Weekend Life
Sorry I got bad about posting again. I meant to post last week but had a minor incident... (my power transformer so I can plug my US adapter into the Australian outlet decided to catch on fire and now I can't charge my laptop.)
Anyway, I've had two super lovely weekends in a row. Last week, my host family went away to Golburn and I chose to stay behind and went out with another au pair and friends of hers. We went to a pretty typical club but just being able to socialize with people my own age was very exciting. I also managed to navigate the bus, train, and taxi system to get myself in and out of the city. Then I went out to the shops and even managed to get myself to the grocery store. Pretty relaxing weekend.
Then just this weekend, my host family took my down to Wollongong for a beach holiday before school holidays were over. Despite awful rainy and chilly weather, I had a super time. Definitely a place I think we plan on going back to. The kids had a blast but were awfully exhausted when they got back home. In addition my host mum's mum has been staying with us as she's off work for the week. Having an extra hand around the house is always welcome. Especially one who can drive on the left side of the road better than I can.
So now we're back into the routine of kindie and preschool for the last term of the year. Crazy to think that when it's over the holidays will be here and my own mum will be here for a visit.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to head to the shops this week so I can use my own computer and be able to post more often. Until then...
