Dogshit refers to a poem called 'boomas bad day' submitted to the 271st Gold Rose Poetry Symposium in 1998. It is a three hundred word stream of consciousness poem which follows a dog, "Booma", who defecates in an individual's front yard, and is subsequently hit by a car. The conference was prolonged by eight days to facilitate a forensic review of all submissions and extensive interviews of contestants. The author was never found.
The original copy of the poem is currently in possession of Francine Effer.
