“Antoinette knew only a gnawing emotional hunger...irresistably [sic] driving her to seek dangerous satisfactions...” (Intimate Confessions 1, 1951). “Strong men, they’d beg or steal anything, for ME! They’re like eager puppies! I should be happy, happy as a cat.” Are cats happy? Is that an expression? I’ve never heard it before. Now, I’ve heard “happy as a pig in sh--” well, never mind that one. I do like the phrase “dangerous satisfactions,” though.
