I love sharing the messy beginning just as much as the finished piece. Every painting starts with simple shapes, bold colors, and a lot of experimenting. Seeing a blank canvas slowly turn into something alive is still my favorite part of creating.

Can you recognize who this is just from the eyes? 

I wanted to focus on capturing emotion through the eyes and practice subtle skin tones, reflections, and texture.

I always keep the reference photo nearby, but I never try to copy every feather. The fun is finding the balance between observation and expression. A few textured strokes can say more than perfect details ever could.

This owl was a great reminder that painting is about capturing the feeling, not just the subject.
