Have you seen the fanvid "Fix You" for Lisa Snart and Mark Mardon? They're a rare pair (really rare), but kind of interesting to think about. After reading your profile post on Mark, I'd love to know what you think a relationship between him and Lisa would be like. You mentioned how he seems to do better with a voice of reason to keep him in check. In "Rogue Time", Lisa was shown to have a calming effect on Mick. Do you think she would have this same calming effect on Mark, too? :)
I’m not even gonna lie, I resisted answering this for a while because I don’t especially like the Coldplay song “Fix You” and I assumed that’s what song this fan vid would use ^^; Apparently it’s set to “Everglow” so I needn’t have worried.
To be honest, I don’t ship it? I can see how/why they’d work, based on what you said, and if we go on Lisa’s comics characterization for how savage and cutthroat she can be, how destructive, I can see how she’d fit with CW Mark and his tendency toward collateral damage of innocent life.
With her CW characterization which is a little softer, it’s hard to say what effect she’d have on Mark though. I can see her refusing to work with him based on his tendency toward that collateral damage, actually, but if he could reign it in then I can see her respecting his capacity for violence. I don’t think she’d ever want to be with someone who’s a loose canon though, who tends toward unpredictable violence, and Mark currently fits that bill quite a bit. I could see them flirting, her challenging him, but I think it would take some serious development before I could see them in a relationship?
I could totally see them working together though, and doing so well, and her reigning him in in that capacity, so I won’t say that I don’t see a “path forward” so to speak? And I’d say there was a hint of flirting in 1x22 (Rogue Air) with them smirking and posturing a bit.
(This might also be my bias toward goldenvibe and my interpretation that CW Lisa is drawn to sweeter guys who she doesn’t find threatening).
