It's a long story, and Uzi doesn't like to dwell on it. Sure, getting a vampire boyfriend is fun and exciting in the end, but those YA romance novels kind of skipped over all the really scary parts. Like the bits where you feel like you're just a few seconds away from having all your blood drained and your corpse in some dark alley where no one will find you. It's way less sexy than the books had her think. But things are fine now! Mostly.
They meet up at her dorm after school, when the sun goes down. Her roommate is pretty chill about having him over and doesn't ask too many questions, which is good. Uzi's got homework to do, which means kissing or watching anime together will have to wait, but there's something else on her mind. A vague concern about whatever else is going on on campus.
She glances over at him, twirling her pencil in her hand. "Hey, N. You hear about those, uh, all those people that've been disappearing? Heard some people talking, and they think it's some kinda campus killer or something. Kinda reminds me of when we met, huh?"
Subtle. Uzi cringes for a moment, because she doesn't want to just accuse him, but... he's a vampire. He's killed people before, she's pretty sure. It's just fine because he's cute.
"You don't... haha, know anything about that, do you?" she says, giving him a forced smile. "I mean, I know you wouldn't, 'cuz we have a whole system, but maybe you have, I dunno, some vampire friends or something. Who might do that."
