at the panel today they showed the first ep of the next season n confirmed shiro as LGBT+ they didn't specify what he identifies as but he canonly had a boyfriend before the kerberos mission (they broke up tho)

    In short, SHIRO feels fucking AWFUL.

It just didn’t make sense. He’s known the LIONS are semi-sentient for the protection of their Paladins, but if the BLACK LION saved him when he was LOST IN SPACE, then surely it would’ve taken him back, right? Glassy silver hues stare at the wall as he remains seated at his desk, lacking any sort of direction at the moment. 

     Is he being PUNISHED for something? 

The thought breaks his heart; he’s done everything by the book-- was he just not a suitable pilot for the BLACK LION? Did... Allura choose wrong? Did he upset the LION somehow? Is it angry with him? After all the time they spent together-- even after he fought for his right to be its true successor.... It just abandoned him completely?

       Maybe he should’ve died in their battle against Zarkon.

“Hey Keith. It’s been a while.” God did it feel weird to talk to the bulky rock that marked the spot. What was the purpose of talking anyway? All he had to say was too late and all he needed to say had already buzzed through his time a hundred times today. “A year. I mean... It doesn’t feel like... I can’t even feel what...” Maybe he shouldn’t talk. It had been a year and they were still just going along with all of it. Endless fights and battles, scraping by and only surviving day by day. They had lost their right arm and a great friend. “I guess... I just miss you. I can’t believe that you’ve been gone a whole year already.” His stomach knotted up into a hard lump. It hurt. He didn’t think it would hurt this much. It had been a whole year! Coming back here had been easy, but now that he was standing here and not being able to think of what to say, everything just hurt. 

“Oh wow!” The bulky rock was surrounded by long reeds with bright red flowers that wafted gently in the breeze. “Looks like those seeds really thrived.” It had been an experiment. The rock looked so lonely the last time they had been here. Hunk had tossed the seeds out on a whim. It had turned out really well. He began to scrape off the moss from the head stone. He wanted it to be clean and so he got to work. He didn’t speak this time. He liked to think that Keith might have enjoyed the silence and a clean space around himself. It had been five years. Hunk had grown. He walked a bit taller and stood a bit broader. Scars ran along his arms and a burnt mark had taken half his ear off. In his memory Keith was young and clean and ready to laugh in the face of danger. Five years was a long time. Hunk hadn’t cried the first time he was here. He hadn’t been able to. His brain had just frozen. It was easier to cry alone and in the dark. Now it had been years. As much as Hunk had loved Keith and wished that he could have stayed with them, life did move on. But now Keith’s grave was clean and in the light of the setting sun they really glowed like fire.

“We did it!” He quipped with a quiet voice. His hand was on the bulky rock that he had once heaved into place on top of newly broken soil. “The empire is gone. All of it. The Galra has gotten a new planet. They live on as anyone should but the army and the droids are gone. I mean... Breaking down a whole system of govern and then relearn the same race some decency and peaceful living... That’s tough. That is gonna take time. There are still a lot of them that don’t want to let go. I understand. Some of them are really embracing a more open and free life for themselves but... Yeah a lot of changes are coming and we can’t leave them hanging. They deserve better.” Hunk couldn’t believe that it had been ten years. It was such a long time and it had passed so fast. “New threats keep popping up. New people wanting to fill the power vacuum, huge monsters.” He threw up his armored hands, one replaced with a robotic one much like Shiro’s. “Not the robeast though. An actual living gigantic starfish! Can you believe it?” Hunk kept babbling. He couldn’t quite remember last time he had been here. Guilt nagged a bit at the back of his head. After a while the worn warrior calmed down. “You know... I didn’t really picture this as my future when I was 27. You’d look at me and wonder why I was a middle aged man but nope! Just... war.” He scratched his stubble on his cheek. “I wonder what you would have looked like now. What you would say about all this. If you would argue with me about the treatment that the Blade of Mamora had in store for the upper commanders of the Galra fleet... I really like to think that you would have agreed with me... I don’t know. I guess you wouldn’t. But it would have been fun if you had been right there with me, punching the living daylight out of Kolivan. Even if it cost me quite dearly...” He took his hand from his face and looked at the robotic fingers. Hunk sighed. The flowers weren’t in bloom this time of the year, but he could see the plants that had spread over the hill and beyond. The head stone had some new markings in it. Pidge had left some notches on the side sometime in the last year for reasons unknown to Hunk. Lance was the one that had left all the shiny white pearls that trailed around the bottom of the grave. “We might be going home now. I’d like that. Back to earth. For a visit. I don’t think I could stay there anymore. The thought that I would stay makes me queasy. And with me and Shay having a kid I can’t see it happening.” He paused for a moment. “Yeah! That is actually happening. Guess I should have started with that. That’s the happy news that tops the rest I had for you today!”

Shiro watched the other learn against the bar, leg lifted straight in morning stretches.

The sun filtered in through the window illuminating the best part of the others feature, the bright light contrasting against the dark pulled back hair, he couldn’t believe someone could look so picturesque at 5:30 in the morning.

The elder placed his gym bag down, finally alerting the other to his presence “ready to get started?”

    Last night wasn’t a good night for Hunk. The constant nightmares of hurting Lance from the time when he was brainwashed plagued his mind. Hunk dragged himself into kitchen to get something to eat, “Hey, Keith.” He said, tiredly. Reaching out for the fridge but barely making it.

Sacrifice >:)

Send me a word and i’ll write a drabble or a starter based on it.

They say you should never sacrifice too much. That if you sacrifice everything there will be nothing left to give to anyone and no one will ever love you. Shiro though that was crazy, how could he not think that? He had given up everything for other people and it was something he always would do. If someone needs your help you do what ever you can to help them for what you put into the world comes back to you.

Plus, the thing about no one loving you if you sacrifice everything Shiro knew to be false, he knew someone that loved him. He was loved so strongly, this person didn’t care about any of his faults; his scars, his strong, almost to a fault, moral compass. This beautiful, dark haired man didn’t care about anything. He saw only the best in his brother-in-arms, he saw the way his eyebrows came together in thought and thought that it was even more beautiful than the setting sun. That man, Keith saw perfection in the flawed visage of Shiro and you know what?

Shiro would sacrifice anything and everything to keep that important person safe, even if it meant losing him.
