Legolas was a common sight in Greenwood Industries; everyone whispered about the beautiful Golden Prince that nearly floated through the halls as he checked in with his father and pulled rare smiles from the ‘King.’ A smile was set firmly on his lips as he waltzed into his father’s office, not bothering to knock. Most people that would meet with his father (both competitors and partners alike) were easily charmed by the boy’s easy grin and attitude. 

The man in with his father now, though, stole his breath away. Blond, tall, muscular. It would be easy for that man to pick him up and press him against the wall of glass separating them from the rest of the office. Shaking his head, Legolas extended a hand to the man. “Hi! I’m Legolas, the real boss here,” He joked, tilting his head innocently.

“I knew this was a bad idea.”

“I told you that I have complete control of the situation,” The elvenking said calmly, rolling his eyes in amusement. “Besides, was it really so bad if it brought you here?”

Frustration still lingered in the air as the therapist continued to search through job openings online, each search leading her back to the same place: the city’s police department openings. Changing one’s career after you are already established is basically financial suicide, but how much more can she take of no-show clients and being unable to use her abilities to help others?

Hearing the front door creak open and closed followed by her husband’s casual gait, Sasha closed her laptop, not wanting him to know what she’s thinking yet. A genuine smile stretched across her face as she saw him, though her annoyance still lingered in her eyes. “I haven’t made dinner... I was kind of in the mood for take out, but wanted to wait and see if you wanted anything as well. How was work?”

The prince’s eyes went wide when his back slammed back against the wall, gaping at the warden before him. Perhaps he should not have teased the other as much as he had. “H-Haldir?” He stammered, feeling his face growing hot as he flushed.

Silently, he walks up behind her, arms wrapping tightly around her waist as he nuzzled into her shoulder. A long hum left his lips as he held her close. "Miss me?"

Long were the days that Haldir was away, leaving the maiden with nothing to do other than to focus upon the house and tend to the horses that remained behind with he was gone. Keeping busy was the best she could do in his absence, knowing well enough that her mind would wander to dangerous places should she sit around and think of all the things that could prevent her husband’s return. 

She was just admiring her work in the gardens when a pair of arms wrapped around her waist, drawing a startled yelp from her lips before her mind could even recognize the voice that followed. Relief shortly followed as she turned around in his grip, wrapping her arms around his neck with a beaming smile. “Haldir! My love, I have missed you beyond words!”

“Neither do I.“ A sharp intake of breath was taken as an illusion crept upon her face, shrouding her identity from all but her husband. “You and Brute should go left, I’ll go right.“

Mid-afternoon light pierced through the slight opening of hastily drawn curtains, spreading over that of the fae and elven pairing resting peacefully upon their bed. Soft cotton bedding hardly covered them, leaving flesh that was normally hidden exposed to the open air. It was only as the sensation of soft touch crept up her thigh, in which Sasha glanced back to look at her love, watching as he intently ran his fingers over the scarred tissue, his brow furrowed slightly.

“That happened upon my return to Ravenlock. I was foolish enough to try and establish my birthright, only for them to show me exactly why I should fear them and their knowledge of my kind.“

Panic gripped her expression as Haldir slouched forward, their welcoming embrace now becoming the only way to keep the marchwarden standing. Noticing her panic, his brothers sprung into action, racing to help lower the eldest to the ground. What could have happened on this patrol, for her husband to return so sickly? With no noticeable injuries to aid her, Sasha immediately yelled for a healer, running a hand over Haldir’s head to check for a fever.
