This is a Victor Vest Pocket Fountain Pen in engraved 18 karat gold fill c. 1919-1922. The U. S. Victor Fountain Pen Company, Inc. was incorporated in 1919 for $30,000 by Henri Pressprich, George Foulk, and Nicolas Pecora at 38 Park Row, New York, NY and took over the United States Fountain Pen Company in 1922. It's a telescoping lever fill pen that's about 3 7/8 inches long capped and extends to about 5 7/8 inches. Advertised available in sterling silver or 18 karat rolled gold for $12.00 and solid gold for $42.00. The design by Edward Hugetz, an inventor responsible for several of the company's designs, was applied for on February 1, 1919 and patent 1307359 was awarded on June 24, 1919. An update to the design was patented by Hugetz on October 4, 1921. The cap is stamped U. S. FOUNT. PEN CO. N. Y. 18KT. FILLED 1/10 over PATENTED JUNE 24, 1919 "VICTOR". The gold nib is stamped U. S. over VICTOR over W over 14K.
