Plant of the Day

During late summer and early autumn Galatella linosyris (goldilocks aster) produces lots of daisy flowers made up of yellow disc florets with fine grey-green foliage. This herbaceous perennial is a British native of shallow, free-draining soils in open, grassy habitats such as cliff-tops, rocky slopes and heath overlying limestone. But here it was featuring in an island bed creating a splash of late season colour.
