Guilan - Gole Gandom 

İran halk türkülerinden biridir. Buğday çiçeği anlamına gelir. Sözlü olduğu için bunu ekliyorum ilk olarak en çok bilinen versiyonudur ayrıca. Belki de en hoşuma giden hali olduğu içindir bilmiyorum.

Cultural Lunch - Lloyd Miller - Gole Gandom

Do you know what a santoor is? It's the polygonal stringed instrument Lloyd Miller is playing in this taped television performance from 1965. It reminds me of the autoharp my elementary school music teacher, Mrs. Tiede, would play nearly every class. I always thought that was such a cool instrument. The santoor is even cooler than the autoharp though, because you play it with these little mallets. An intricate little instrument with a not so little sound. 

This song is superb. When I was popping into turntable.fm rooms I would drop this track and if people started to vote it crappy I'd beg them to please wait until the bass kicks in, where it gets proper jazzy. Minds would quickly be changed. What I love most about this song is that it marries what is a genuine American musical artform, jazz, with traditional Oriental music. I definitely recommend checking Lloyd Miller out if you're a fan of jazz, world music and exotic instruments. -a
