not even sure if me being “ace” rn is just because i’m a rape victim and also only 16 but like that’s just comfortable to say instead of explaining my much more complicated relationship to sex but like also hhh boys cute but i don’t wanna do that with boy? and idk i’m having a weird time with sexuality

it could be either, it could be both. if it’s something that you’re distressed by and want to start working on, it’s the kind of thing that people resolve in therapy and would suggest that it’s stemming out of trauma rather than age; but seeing as you’re 16 and it’s all the harder to come to terms with own sexuality (and yes, its sexual aspect) for gay people, it’s not really something to worry about. just wait it out, be yourself and don’t force yourself into anything, see how it plays out

(not to mention a lot of people do actually require to first become closer to someone and become comfortable with them as a person before they potentially start to want to have sex with them - again, it’s something that plays out with time and not something to force yourself into)

it’s more than okay to not describe your relationship to sex at all, it’s not really something that people who aren’t your partners/potential partners need to know - especially if the people you’re talking to are adults (unless they’re like your therapist), this kind of information is off limits
