It’s still wild to me that Sonic’s ‘bad habit’ turns out to be that despite everything, the Ninja Village couldn’t beat the human emotion out of him.

from the album Superwhatever
this band never got the attention it deserved! this song is fucking amazing and holds up like the first day i heard it, all these years later. the lyrics perfectly encapsulate the emotional masochism/anxious insecurity/self-sabotaging behavior us humans knows and love. as far as songs that i strongly personally identify with, this is in the top 5 for sure.
If our paths cross at uncertain points And the future seems unclear Would it be okay if I follow you Because I can't go home? And I worry that I'll overstay my welcome That I'll out last my usefulness That i've stayed too long already So maybe long weekends away are all I need to keep me on an even keel Some time off from my comfort zone could do some good It's just like pointillism; the further away I get the better everything looks The worst part of all this is that I will fuck it up I know I get locked on I can't help myself I'll find new creative ways to scare you off I can't go home
It is hard making a good anything
Merc List Vol. 9
Yikes, I am late two weeks in a row. What the hell is my problem, am I right? Life has been crazy lately. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about it at the moment. Hopefully things calm down soon so I can post the Merc List on it’s rightful, alliterative day. Until then, bear with me.
Happy Tuesday! The day that is almost as monotonous as Monday. Let’s get into the Merc List, shall we?
cult choir / good crime / alex g / roof doctor / pill friends show
ran smoothly, great turn out. cult choir opened with a few songs, good crime played some rad new songs, roof doctor sounds great unplugged, enjoyed abi's accompaniment in pill friends, alex g took requests and i told him he could play forever, it was awesome. post-show hangs involved more drinking than has ever happened at a show i booked but everyone was silly and well-behaved. there were some sweet sum 41/lit mash up jams and other sing alongs.
