The whirring of a coffee machine breaks the otherwise concentrated silence in the fluorescent room. The base seems devoid of life, with bright artificial lighting sucking any and all life out of the quarters. A shuffling of papers scatters quietly amidst the room...

The door swings open violently.

In steps a familiar black and red hedgehog. He looks tired. Exhausted. More so than usual. Twigs are still in his quills. The mission had been tougher than he’d expected.

Still, despite that, Shadow had succeeded. Had won. It had been long and arduous and tested his patience many a time, but Shadow had come out victorious.

He casts a triumphant grin at the shocked agents. Takes a moment to let his win settle in amongst the crowd; surely they hadn’t been expecting him back so soon. It’s the little things like this that Shadow relishes.
