hey! just saw your reply & im very sorry if i came across antagonizing! i use my blog to post thoughts and never really make direct replies.. *usually* in an attempt to avoid conflict lmao. your reply really clears up your interpretation & I agree with a lot of what you're saying! The writing in your initial post felt much less nuanced, which left me with a wrong impression. I'm very sorry about that! (also part 5 is not really within my "expertise", i definitely got some facts wrong there oops)
HEY! I can't tell you how fuzzy I feel seeing this in my inbox. You struck me as a real fan and a good person from the get-go, and I hope in my reply I addressed your points and didn't make you feel like I was attacking you or being mean. Altho I know I can be terse...😩...I don't think there's value in being petty over this stuff. It was important in some of the other interactions I had last night that I wasn't myself and wasn't gonna stand for people coming here to pull petty shit towards you.
And don't apologize for your interpretation. That post alone responds to the ask posed, without addressing all the facets of his character or going into great depth on any one point. It was I think the jumping-off post for me on delving into his character actually. I hope my (embarrassingly extensive lol) body of work on Giorno Giovanna helps to clarify how I see him as a character. Cos again you're right, he is nuanced, and I argue he has a moral code that's a lot more gray than black or white, which speaks directly to that nuance. Araki writes some damn great characters. Well and also Rubber Soul but that's another conversation...
