I've always interpreted settling as being due to self-understanding, and knowing who you are. Some people just know who they are from a very young age, and for that reason are more at peace with themselves. It's not 'maturity', per se, but it's something similar. For example, my flatmate and I decided that my flatmate probably settled very early - she's always known who she is and what she wants to do and just understood herself, whereas I wouldn't have settled till I was about 17.
That’s a very interesting view that I haven’t thought of before!!! That does sound pretty accurate, especially concerning what daemons are (your soul). If you know yourself, then you literally know what your soul is.
On the topic of inside out clothes feeling better sometimes, when it's less nice out, you can put on an inside out t-shirt/undershirt/similar and layer with a sweatshirt/hoodie/or sweater, then you can have inside our clothes without anyone noticing.
