i realize a lot of people here mainly care about dnf and basically just got sapnap as a fun little bonus dude, but the idea that sap "terrified of flying but got a passport and flew to george the second he said he was feeling bad" nap , the same sap "moved in with dream to answer the door to police" nap, doesn't care about dteam as friends is wild
like, yeah he's currently doing his nrg job. i assume dream is also still doing his merch company job, that's just behind the scenes so we aren't seeing him in meetings and throwing up over how it means he's dropping george
I have an unpopular opinion - one that shippers would call unpopular, but I don't think anti shippers would.
/ Opinion here. Anti-shippers are probably gonna love this one. Shippers, I know you won't accept the truth, and that's fine — but just remember who's ass you decided to kiss at GG.
Let's see. Annabelle has only posted about Sebastian when it was TA, around Oscar's, and HIS vanity fair that she snuck her way in for. Seems fine and dandy, right?
She hasn't posted about his other movies he's working on. No. Not a single one. Instead, she baits wherever Sebastian is at, She's there too — and let's shippers assume he dropped everything to go see her.
Shippers wanna pull the card of "she's a supportive girlfriend" when, in reality, she's not. It's been a few days, and she didn't even congratulate Sebastian for his Academy membership? And no, there's no bullshit excuse she forgot to post when she's been posting on her story. She hasn't posted about his other movies because she was hired for TA only and still holding on for who knows what.
She has not posted anything about congratulating Sebastian, his other movies, anything to look supportive. Cause she's not, Sebastian's moments are hers too. Her Oscar's post should have been a dead giveaway to shippers of how she really felt about Sebastian.
Her story's from yesterday? Baiting, pregnancy baiting without saying anything. She's going to keep baiting because it's the quickest thing she can bait. And the most upsetting / serious baiting tatic she's using, but she doesn't care. Wanna know why? Because she's getting the attention out of it.
So shippers. How much longer are you gonna keep being delusional? When does reality set in that this women doesn't give a fuck about Sebastian. Sebastian makes it clear he doesn't give a fuck about her, just like yall shippers make it clear you don't give a fuck about him with the "jokes." She didn't even post his academy membership post, but is posting other crap on her story.
She only posted because Sebastian was mentioned and knows everyone would run to see if she posted about him. She only posted about HER movies she's going to be in for a few seconds.
All Annabelle ever does is bait, baits everything she can. And you still don't see that shippers? What is it gonna take for shippers to realize? Does she need to have a bigger crash out? Or does Sebastian need a big crash out and crash out on her?
This latest pap walk they done, he really was showing how he felt. He clocked the camera constantly because he couldn't act like a dick. They paid for that pap walk, by the way. Annabelle acted like an idiot as usual. That's her normal walk, she's always walked like that.
I think a part of the problem with Nancy in s4 is that we don't really get her POV because Jonathan is the person that she shares those things with, and he isn't there. She isn't close to anyone in the Hawkins group and isn't comfortable being vulnerable with them, so her thoughts and feelings stay a mystery to us because there's not much opportunity for her to open up.
Disclaimer: When discussing Nancy's POV here, I'm referencing her POV regarding character moments, not monster hunting badassery (which they gave her plenty of and have shown once again that her journalistic instincts are solid).
I 100% agree that we don't get Nancy's POV in ST4 (which is incredibly frustrating as a Nancy fan). I also agree that Nancy feels disconnected from her peers since she is not close to anyone and frankly has no friends now that Jonathan's gone. Even though she (I'm assuming) spends a great deal of time with Fred, her walls are still up with him most of the time. Regarding the larger Hawkins crew, you're right, she doesn't feel comfortable with them (at first) and is trying to figure out how to interact with Steve again (probably for the first time since the fall of '84). It is nice though to see her slowly become more comfortable with Robin and open up to her a bit later in the season (but that kind of fizzles out too... I think. I need to rewatch the last two episodes and not just the epilogue but I don't want to.)
However, I don't think the lack of her POV is solely related to Jonathan's absence or even her lack friends in Hawkins. I think it has way more to do with reestablishing and dragging out the love triangle. Which is so INCREDIBLY frustrating. There are many scenes in ST4 (especially in reaction to Steve and less so Jonathan) where Nancy is painfully neutral, barely reacts or is not given the chance to react (being cut off, etc.) that don't sit well with me. I think a good example of this is when Nancy is released from Vecna's trance and she collapses stiffly in Steve's arms and it looks janky as hell. Even as someone who hates the idea of Steve and Nancy together romantically, I was like "Come on, Nancy. Grab his arm or something."
I feel like the writers wanted to open the door to the love triangle without committing to or making a decision on "who wins" (gross) and it shows in the execution (i.e. having Nancy just not react or respond in her scenes with the boys (mostly Steve but there are a few points with Jonathan as well)).
I've mentioned this before, but I've always understood Nancy in previous seasons and have enjoyed her characterization and the way she is portrayed on screen but this season she felt lost to me most of the time and I genuinely believe that is because we, as an audience, are not supposed to know what's going on her head to promote the love triangle. And I hate it.
{Tangentially related, but I'll also never forgive the show for having Nancy face her guilt over Barb's death in the USD only to have it overshadowed by Vecna's backstory and then never mentioned again.}
As they actually start to address the love triangle in ST5 I really, really hope we get to see Nancy's POV again. I love her messy emotions and want to see them again. I miss her.
As claude is my fav character in FE16 one of the things that confused me about people praising Three Hopes GW as the "true claude" because GW Claude uses more violent methods to get what he wants and therefore somehow that means he's the manipulative schemer we the devs always intended , it just made me go ??? Like what??
Cause as your post pointed out, he already was a manipulative schemer in FE16. like we know he uses people to try to push things in his favor, but because it wasnt outright violent then somehow that made him a goody two shoes???
Like uh no. He's not a goody two shoes and he has always been morally ambiguous. he always had these flaws. it's one of the reasons I like his character.
the difference was he drew a line at how far he'd go.
Like why bother using force or violence when you have Hilda to charm people into doing what you want? Why fight the church when you can use them to bring in recruits to take down Edelgard and end her war? Why not use Byleths influence to bring people together in Fodlan and then use them to establish peaceful relations between Fodlan and Almyra? Why use violence at all when you can use guile.
Anyway hes always been a little shit lmfao. I can't blame people for not liking him for it either its totally understandable! The reasons you dislike him are why I like (and hate) him. He's secretive and he's manipulative, always has been.
But to his credit, he does have his limits and when he goes too far he steps back , apologizes or admits his faults, reevaluates and tries to do better- with ehh varying outcomes. And that's so realistically human. He's a work in progress.
He chooses to seek the truth, he always wants more information, and he's willing to hear people out. This plus his self awareness and willingness to change his view based on new information is IMO his greatest strengths. Everyone has biases, but how many of us are able to look at ourselves and consider what if I'm wrong.
By the end of the game his character is very different from where he began. His stance on Rhea and Fodlans faith by the end of VW is perhaps one of the most obvious changes.
whoops my venting warped into this LOL sorry 😭😭😭
Ooh don't worry!
I actually don't mind talking about characters with people who don't share the same opinions, if I had to talk to myself it'd be pretty boring lol
But yep, as you said, Claude is a work in progress, and I'll even say he still evolves between VW's end and his epilogue card*!
Yellow units have always been a wild card in FE, they're not your allies like green units, but they have their own allegeances and might become enemy units later on, or not.
And even if Claude has a manipulative streak and sometimes prioritizes his goals instead of the means used to reach that goal, Fe16's Claude is a Claude who is shown being able to take a step back, reconsider, realise he's wrong and ultimately move in another direction.
Claude can apologise and learn.
But there are lines Claude will not cross to reach his goals, at least in Fe16. And those lines are what Flamey jumps over during WC.
Come Nopes and... Clout crosses the same lines VW's Claude wouldn't have crossed, Claude can manipulate and be sneaky, Claude doesn't start wars. Fe16's Claude offers his sympathies to Billy after Jerry kicks the bucket, he doesn't give Billy his best Caellach impersonation.
And when his Nopes version refuses to consider other POVs or even reconsider, it's annoying because, hey, we know Nopes wasn't supposed to portray the lords in a good light else the player who inserted in Billy would feel bad, but we came from a Claude who learns and admits (even if it's subtle) he was wrong...
To a 1st year undergraduate student who thinks he is smarter than everyone in the room, and doesn't even bother to read his syllabus. Claude graduated, Clout didn't, and we have to follow the "non developed" Clout in Nopes making bad decisions on top of bad decisions... Yeah, I can see why it's really annoying for fans of guys character.
* I earlier checked the VW ending painting thingie, Claude apparently is holding a treaty to alliance lords and they are negotiating? But while both sides are backed up by soldiers, only the Almyran ones have weapons?
I know Almyra is a sour subject - I can think of both doylist and watsonian reasons why Claude never adresses the elephant in the room, even in the Fe16 room - but ultimately in his ending cards Almyra and Fodlan finally have their famous peaceful relationships and king Claude even furthers bonds with the two states, so it sort of worked in the end!
Dude they didn't even put him in there to rehabilitate him. Tommy was about to kill him until he revealed he can bring back the dead. And then was still unsure if it's okay to keep him alive, until Sam offered the prison as an alternative.
For all I care the prison is okay because it was never about rehabilitation. It was about keeping Dream locked up until he became useful, until someone died.
Like... Stop putting the morality of irl prisons, who work differently than Pandora, as a talking point when discussing Pandora lol. Prisons irl suck but for all I care Pandora was comissioned by Dream to be exactly as it is, and it is keeping a God-like figure locked in for the sake of everyone's safety. That thing doesn't happen irl.
Stop bringing irl morality in the story, unless the theme is brought into the story intentionally.
Just... gonna leave this here, because Anon makes a great point!
Those characters have been retconned so many times merely to fill gaps in originally poorly created characters with little back story clearly. And others have been retconned to align with their MCU counterparts. And on that last point it's clear Magneto is not in the picture as the X-Men are not even in the MCU picture yet or if they even ever will be.
I think one day the xmen will be in the mcu but not just yet. I’m hoping if they are brought in, scarlet witch won’t be the bridge. I also hope they don’t try to bring in fox xmen. Let it die. Just being the xmen in anew.
Though I’m not sure how theyll do that unless they go back in time bc Magnetos backstory is important and I don’t want that changed.
Personally I love Black Noir because not only is he badass and mysterious, he's also really adorable and has some dorky moments that remind us he's not just an assassin <3
Tbh I think the smartest signs are Gemini’s and Aquarius. Gemini’s get stuff really fast their fast learners. That’s why in conversations their so witty plus their very open minded on learning a bunch of knew topics. Their walking encyclopedias. Aquarius in the 3rd, Uranus in 3rd, Aquarius in mercury are generally very intelligent and woke. I think air signs in general are the smartest signs even Libras.
i think air sign intellectualism is just amazing. air signs have a way to store all the information they learn in their heads and use it when its convient. the sponge brain definitely belongs to gemini though because mercury ruled. aquarius loves to learn and hates looking dumb but libra ive found will play dumb to their advanatage just to come out on top. like “legally blonde” is prime libra energy, not a fan of the whole “libra is dumb” trope so im glad you brought libra into the conversation. air signs in my opinion just love knowledge.
