I guess maybe I’m in the minority, but it was the first season of HUMANS that captured my attention rather than that of WEST WORLD.  It’s a point of curiosity to see how the new season (season 3) fairs.

Sekaisuru Kado ep 6

Thoughts (and spoilers) under the cut.

-This anime is so slow-paced and yet still so interesting. They spent a whole episode on rolling a cube across Tokyo, but it was great. -I want to know who’s in charge of Iruma’s tourism department, because that makes TWO ongoing series currently taking place there (Ajin is the other).  -Good timing on the going home thing for Mother’s Day this past weekend. -I also really like that origami keeps coming up.  Who would have thought there’d be an anime combining my two interests of origami and smoothly-functioning Japanese bureaucracy? -Is it just me or were the zaShunina/Shindo ship overtones stronger than usual this week? -OK. LET’S JUST NOT SLEEP.  The subtle introduction throughout the episode of what was coming was nice.

Watching the Centauri destruction of Narn is harder from the perspective of having observed the Palestinian genocide over the past year+

It should legally allowed to give people who like Stargate swirlies. It's the Wal Mart Great Value version of 90s Sci-Fi TV. Why can't you like Deep Space Nine or Babylon 5 like a normal person!?!?

I finally watched some Rick & Morty episodes. I’ve been avoiding it because the clips I’ve seen did not entertain me. I have to say the sci-fi content is very good. Top-notch, even. But the humor comes from the Seth McFarland camp. Cruelty-based, hateful. Not funny.

Things I like about this show:

MUPPET WORKSHOP IN SPACE. Because Pilot and Rigel are AWESOME.

Moya. How much do I love this ship? I love her so much.

The fact that the Peacekeepers look EXACTLY LIKE HUMANS is actually canonically explained.

Scorpius only he’s not going to show up for a while yet.

Did I mention all the awesome characters? Because Yes. 

Show that is both serious and silly.

Ambitious and reaching (it’s titled “Love” for goodness’ sakes) science fiction that drifts and wanders but delivers impressive visuals and a thought-provoking story. Numerous dialogue free passages feel like mini-music videos, but the rather generic soundtrack doesn’t deliver a necessary strong motif or memorable theme to provide enough momentum or cohesion.
