When Cincinnati police Sgt. James Givens was “called” to the scene by a mother goose, he couldn’t have known what it was for.

She kept “pecking [at my cruiser’s door] and normally they don’t come near us. Then it walked away and […] stopped and looked back so I followed it and it led me right over to the baby that was tangled up in all that string,” Givens said. The police officer and his partner quickly got to work freeing the poor baby — are you ready to smile?

This could have ended so terribly if these officers weren’t at the scene. Thank goodness we can all enjoy this happy ending instead!

Every once in awhile, I hear about someone doing something so amazing that it moves me to tears. Campbell “Bumble” Whittaker is just 12 years old, but he is making a huge difference in his community.

When Bumble was nine, he asked his parents if he could give Christmas presents to all the kids in the hospital. After learning it was too expensive, he decided to teach himself to sew. That way, he could make toys for them.

He currently runs Project 365 by Campbell and makes one bear for each day of the year to give to hospitalized kids and makes special bears to auction off for fundraisers.

Moving children around hospitals is a complicated task. They are hooked up to all kinds of machines, and it’s hard to tell playful little ones to wander around calmly and quietly in a situation that’d be too difficult for most adults to bear.

A man named Roger Leggett took notice of this while his granddaughter was in the hospital fighting a brain tumor. He decided that there had to be a better way to safely transport these kiddos and still help them feel like normal children. Leggett and his son, Chad, started building little red wagons with IV poles in them. Unfortunately, Chad died of a heatstroke shortly after they began the project, and Roger had all but given up on the endeavor because he was heartbroken.

That’s when his colleagues at Lockheed Martin stepped in to lend a helping hand. The wagons have become incredibly popular in children’s hospitals in the Atlanta area, and even around the world!

After losing his son, Roger almost gave up on the wagon project. Fortunately, some kind friends stepped in to help him.

The red wagons have become a hit in children’s hospitals across the country! The kids can’t get enough of them, and they bring so much joy into their lives.

Ten-year-old Toxey Andrews was celebrating his birthday when no one from his class showed up to the party. He was devastated, to say the least. His mother then posted the heartbreaking news on Facebook, and the story eventually made its way across a state trooper’s desk.

That man and a few other officers went to Toxey’s house, and they brought a cake, some presents, and one of their police dogs with them! They wanted to make sure Toxey had a special birthday, regardless of whether or not the kids from his class came to the party. After all, they were the ones missing out!

The Arkansas state troopers found out about Toxey’s birthday party from a Facebook post that was written by the boy’s mother, Angela.

Mosha the elephant was only a baby when her life became much more painful and difficult.

When she was two years old, she stepped on a land mine near the Thai-Burma border. She lost most of her front leg. After that, it seemed impossible for her to live a normal life, but a kindhearted doctor in Lampang, Thailand, stepped in and changed all of that for her.

Upon hearing about Mosha’s unfortunate accident, Dr. Therdchai Jivacate, an orthopedic surgeon, wanted to do something to help her. No prosthetics existed at the time for elephants, so Jivacate decided to create one himself. Now, 15 years later, the grateful elephant makes it perfectly clear how she feels about her amazing doctor.

I hope you brought your tissues, people.

This guy is simply inspiring. If I ever get to help animals even half as much as he does, then I’ll die a very happy person.

This Pakistani Firefighter Does Something Amazing In His Free Time

All firefighters are dedicated to helping people in their communities, but this man goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Mohammed Ayub is a firefighter in Pakistan, and what he does for children in his town goes beyond pulling them to safety (although he’s amazing at doing that, too). He keeps them safe in a multitude of ways by empowering them with knowledge.

In his spare time, Ayub teaches children in the capital city of Islamabad so that they can fulfill their destinies and live their lives to the fullest.

“We’re the children of poor parents. Without an education, we’ll wander the streets clearing rubbish. It’s not our destiny to clear rubbish.”

Millions of children around the world are unable to get the educations they deserve, which is what makes Mohammed Ayub’s work so important. By giving these kids a few hours of his time every day, he equips them with the tools they’ll need to reach their goals later in life.

This Dad's Good Deed Turned Into A Huge Project That Will Melt Your Heart

Ryan Weimer is the proud dad of five wonderful children. He and his wife, Lana, are probably some of the busiest people on the planet (as anyone with a motley crew of adorable little ones will tell you), but they always do their best to ensure that they put their kids’ needs above their own.

While that may sound like an apt description for any large family, the Weimer gang is anything but ordinary. They face a unique set of challenges, since three of their five kids were born with a condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). To help his children lead happier lives, Weimer started a wonderful project that would eventually go on to help children across the country.

It all started just before Halloween a few years ago, when Weimer’s oldest son, Keaton, asked if he could dress up as a pirate that year.

Although that may sound like a simple request, designing Halloween costumes for kids with SMA is tough, since they’re often wheelchair bound.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Weimer set out to create the most epic pirate costume that the world had ever seen. While brainstorming different concepts, he decided that he’d incorporate Keaton’s wheelchair by turning it into his very own ship!

“What kid wouldn’t love having a pirate ship to roll deep in, sailing through the streets, collecting Halloween booty?” Weimer writes. “He even made the front page of the newspaper!”

Keaton’s amazing costume was an instant hit! And you best believe that the other kids wanted their wheelchairs decked out, too.

After seeing how happy these costumes made his kids on Halloween, Weimer decided that he would make it his mission to provide that same sense of pride and happiness to wheelchair-bound kids across the country. That’s when Magic Wheelchair was born.

Magic Wheelchair’s goal is simple.

“Our vision,” Weimer writes, “is to put a smile on the face of every child in a wheelchair by transforming [the chairs] into awesomeness created by our hands, and their imaginations.”

And that’s exactly what they do.

Every year around this time, the Weimers and a group of dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that each request that’s been accepted by Magic Wheelchair is completed in time for trick-or-treating.

Everyone knows that dinosaurs are the coolest. It’s a fact.
