I've been trying so hard not to think about him leaving, but today's the day, so here's what I have to say: Ben platt, you've been so amazing at playing this character; I'm so happy it was you who set the standard for Evan, you made me love Evan with every hand gesture, every tear, and every other tiny, but super significant, like the way you touch your stomach to reassure yourself, the little humming thing you do in words fail before you start singing. Every little quirk that seems small, but brings Evan to life, that makes him real. Thank you for all the emotional stress you went through every day playing this character, putting yourself through all of this crap for us. You took a character on paper and brought him to life, you represented a ton of people who deal with Evan's problems, and did so beautifully. You gave a voice to so many, you brought some more light to something that is largely ignored or brushed under a rug. Thank you so, so much, for everything you've done, and I can't wait to see what's next for you.
