the reason why I don't take cancel culture seriously and why I think it's just a means to justify harassment is that every time someone is cancelled on social media (mostly twitter), it's always because "they ship this ship / they write fanfics about xyz / they draw art about xyz, and these xyz are bad!!!!! they're fiction, but ewww they're disgusting, so instead of curating my own internet experience by blocking/muting what upsets me, I will harass them over fiction instead; this way people know I am morally superior by 1.) not condoning taboo fiction 2.) harassing real people over it" and every single time I see these call-out posts, I'm looking at these morally superior bullies like

I’ll always hate the child imagery in MHA.

The only way for the villains to be loved is if they’re reverted to their child-selves, when the most powerful and effective message should be loving them at their supposed worst.

Also, what the fuck is Horikoshi’s problem to imply these children were destined to be evil and, in Touya’s case, inherently evil, on top of then trying to turn around and instill the idea their child-selves would feel happy living in a society that allowed for their suffering to continue? Like, even if they had stayed quiet as they were abused (because, really, that’s what the presented solution was under the guise of being saved by heroes) it wouldn’t change the fact their parents and system would’ve continued to be awful to them.

The problem was always them. If you don’t forgive your abuser and the system that has caged you, you’re not enough. You’re only redeemable as a child, because children are innocent. But in their case not so innocent, never mind they were responding to the environment that denied them any semblance of help. They deserved everything that’s ever happened to them.

This squirrel attempted to jump a full six feet (yes, I measured) from a nearby bush to the bird feeder. Its first two misses were spectacular, so much so that when it made it on the third try, I let it hang out and eat as many peanuts as it wanted.
