i just finished watching game of thrones and by finished I mean I just watched 8x03.
That’s where it ends right? Pretty short, it was only a 3 episode 8th season.
OMG... I never realized how much Thatcher could abuse his power....
I'm just gonna throw this out into the air before the GOT finale airs tonight (which I will NOT be watching, thank you very much):
At the very end, Bran will ~magically~ reset the whole thing a la 3ER powers...I guess...?
Hey, makes as much sense as anything else Dumb and Dumber is writing nowadays.
Watching Season 1 Episode 1 again of GOT
And just thinking how far this show has come.
Sure. It’s not the same show anymore, I don’t think...
There were no dragons yet or White Walkers (though there were hints right at the very first scene beyond the wall). Jon was a side character. Dany was a girl with no agency or voice. Sansa, Arya and Bran were just little kids. Robb, Cat, Ned and Rickon were all alive and well. Theon was still a dick. So was Jaime. Tyrion was just a drunken playboy. Cersei still had her 3 kids.
Most people would probably be like: The writing was still good, no such thing as plot armor, it was just a good medieval drama set in a fictional world.
Yeah, I guess so. But it was and still is my favorite show. Despite its flaws. I guess that’s what money and fame do to you. Kinda like what I felt happened with the Harry Potter books once they became a worldwide sensation too. The creators get caught up in the hype of their rabid fans and the quality of what made them great suffered. Then you get the people who want nothing more than to tear it down as well as the people who get triggered at the slightest criticism.
I still love the show. I love the silly moments, the stupid moments, the wtf moments, the sad gut-wrenching, heartbreaking moments, the sexy moments, the cute heart-eyes moments.
This was such a good show that, as with all great shows, can sometimes falter under the pressure of fame.
Just my thoughts I guess. Being in the fandom right now is a little exhausting and I might take a break from it. The crazy rabid antis versus the ass-kissing defenders are too much.
I’m just going to enjoy the last 3 episodes for what it’s worth. The hype definitely killed a bit of the joy for me. I still love this show though. I love Jon and Dany and all the Starks and all the others still alive, and those who died. I am so grateful for HBO and D&D and GRRM for a fantastic 8 years. They really deserve all the awards as well as their cast and crew who all worked so hard to give the world a good show.
I know I’m saying my goodbye to GOT a little early but I think it’s a good time to do it. I hope everyone has a good, chill night free of anxiety and grief.

el-oh-el another show that i'm not going to watch anymore
GOODBYE GOT. I'M OUT FOR GOOD.
