Trax on Wax

So I have to give a shout out to the guys at Trax on Wax Record store in Cantonsville MD. Being new to the area I needed to find a local record store. Google to the rescue, these guys seemed like I needed to go check them out. I was not disappointed. 

We met Jeff Ball who was very friendly, we chatted about various music related things for a bit while listening to the Beatles over the store audio system. We then descended on their $1 bins to see what could be had for a $1.00. We came home with 19 LPs lol. Some very good stuff, we played some of it last night.

I didn’t have high hopes for a buck, I figured if they played we were doing good, a few skips, some surface noise, and to be fair I haven’t cleaned any of them yet. Just a carbon fiber brush, a quick play to see if a serious cleaning was warranted. This morning I’m listening to The Eagles, The Long Run, its in decent condition! Sounds like an old LP but very playable, so was the Billy Joel Piano Man, Jim Croce’s Greatest Love Songs, if the rest of them are this good what a haul! 

The store is well laid out, large selection, almost everything in its own poly sleeve, they had a large selection of new stuff in the middle of the store. They even have candy available so you can keep your energy up while you dig through bin after bin. If you’re local they deserve checking out.

Ok I’ve got records to listen to! Have a great weekend, if you’re stuck indoors put on a record, it’s good you ;)
