" I love your tattoos! "
Professor Harrow's grin is cordial but warm and inviting, truly the smile of a man with joy in his heart. The low buzzing of the Beheeyem that follows him 'round at the tram stop is ambience in the air, accompanying radio chatter, passing cars, and sidewalk murmuring.
His smile falters a faint bit. Perhaps he's realized how it might come across. Harrow's composure returns when he notices the man's fashions and the chain hanging by his keys. Another grin. Harrow points to the green carnation patch on his peacoat's lapel.
" I'm... a friend of Dorothy. Solomon Harrow, Pokemon Professor of the Hammerlocke University Department of Archaeology. Nice meetin' you. Handsome Arcanine! What's the fella's name? "
It's not uncommon for someone to stroll right up to him to compliment his tattoos — they're vibrant and cover the entirety of his arms, and he's considered adding more to them, or getting more on other parts of his body. So he doesn't even startle when the man approaches him, proverbial tail wagging.
"Thank you!" He replies with a grin, and then pauses. It takes barely any time to register, and then his grin grows impossibly wider, brighter, his eyes twinkling. "You, too, huh? Always nice to meet another. I'm Surya. My mum also teaches at Hammerlocke Uni."
Surya spins his keys around his finger. Arcanine, a giant of a beast, huffs where he sits beside him, clearly pleased at the compliment with how his tail thumps against the ground.
"His name's Montu! Hey — he likes pets, too."
Oh, wait... I think this guy could bloodtinge a snowball 🤔

// people aren't obligated to write with you or anyone for that matter. this sounds like common sense but back in the day it came up a lot. truth of the matter is, we've all got lives and other obligations that keep us busy for the most part-- when we do have time to write, it should be with the people that we want to write with, namely our mutuals and friends.
i feel as though original characters should be held to a higher standard than canon muses. not because they have something to prove or something dumb like that, but because the effort put into a character of your own design should show (whether they're from original universes or created to fit into a preexisting one such as yours truly). sharpen your ideas and concepts, grind away at the core of this person you've handcrafted, get people to look at your character and see what you see in them. that's the difference between canon and oc to me.
running out of rpc gripes so have some soulsborne hot takes.
