Chapter 7: the end.
Finally into the endgame with GS7. Five pages to sort out and I’m there.
Note to self: write more of the end at an early stage next time. I know what happens at the end of RFACS - [redacted] goes to [redacted] and [redacted] to the [redacted], [redacted] in the process, and then everyone stands round in the [redacted] realising the implications, but it would be a really good idea if I wrote the whole scene instead of just having a paragraph of notes.

Chapter 6: ‘What if it’s stopped?’ Billy’s got his back to him, voice strained, but it’s as though their thoughts are one and the same. What if it’s over, whatever it is?
GS7 is down to the gravelly bit at the bottom of the tank - fact checking from previous chapters and the last three paragraphs one more time. I will post it tomorrow, and immediately commence nightly updates on Necropolis VI to fill the void.
Goodnight Sometimes 7: I have two and half more pages to go for this edit, then I will print out a fresh draft which I hope will be the last. Typing up the current edits made me aware of more shaky sections than I expected, but I really am in the endgame with it. RFACS continues apace, though is annoyingly still only 11k long - what I’ve written feels like it should be much more.
Further progress on GS7, slow as always but we’re getting there - I’m hoping to get it done by the end of this weekend; and some more progress too on RFACS - the prologue is almost done, and chapters 1 and 2 well on their way. The only issue is going to be how long I can hold off starting to post it because I am so stoked for it right now!
At last I feel that GS7 is moving in the right direction: I think it has all the right bits in the right order, and the writing, while still lacking panache, isn’t terrible. This draft and then one more should see it done. Meanwhile I’ve had another great but horrible idea for RFACS and.found two jokes I’d written and then forgotten about in a scene between Red and Goody that made me laugh out loud, so all good there.
Updates have become erratic as I’ve had a run of bad days and achieved very little, but as far as GS7 goes I’ve come up with a new scene which I think solves my plotting problem, and I’ve cracked both the kitchen scene and the vet scene for RFACS, and also had a totally horrible idea for the end which I now can’t unhave, so progress of a not-actually-written-yet kind.
