You probably seen that among others copied and pasted everywhere if you are a Youtube browser. "Bob" was a meme of Youtube that was copied and pasted everywhere to "take over" Youtube. Like as sort of a joke. Once Youtube's spam filters started taking effect, they all but killed off that meme. Now it's back in a new form: In aims to DESTROY Google+! I mean "Google-". Bringing back an old meme in a new way is meant to be a symbolic way to say that people want Youtube back the way it once was.
Well... that's the plan anyway. Quite frankly I think this idea is dumb and even counterproductive in some ways, lol! The same with day, week, or month long boycotts, refusing to make a Google- in protest or even promoting adblockers to hurt Youtube.
Youtube is not going to be afraid of viral ascii art/viruses/long comment abuse because it doesn't exactly tell them or others what the problem with Google+ comments are. It just makes it look like people simply hate the change without reason. Giving a reason is very important. If anything, spamming the comments in this way is just going to make Google say: "See, we told you we needed a better commenting system to rid the site of stuff like this" or whatnot to further twist the "need" for Google+ comments on Youtube.
Youtube is not going to be afraid of a boycott of any length because most users will not know about ir care to the point it'll make an impact and users who do will end up catching up on videos they missed during the boycott later anyway, thus making up the losses for Youtube. Remember that Youtube monopolized the video sharing industry and that there aren't alternatives to Youtube right now. So people will have to come back to it some way or another for the time being.
Youtube won't be afraid of people not making a Google- account because it just means that they can't speak their mind on sites that use Google-. Meaning you are effectively censored in their favor because you won't be able to speak your mind where Google- comments are used.
Youtube won't be afraid of adblockers because they hurt the content creators first. Google made it so their policies and rules can be changed at any time, they can quite literally pay themselves more by reducing the payout for it's users if they notice impending losses.
The only thing they'd be afraid of is bad publicity and losses. Bad publicity would drive people to seek other video sites (likely for safety reasons) and therefor cause losses. Losses in general would be by people leaving for good and refusing to play any Youtube video again.
Also, spamming about it in comments everywhere that isn't on a Google-operated channel or service isn't exactly a way to get the message to Youtube about this. It just hurts the content creators and regular commenters because conversations are effectively buried under anti-Google stuff and it makes it difficult for a channel owner to interact. Because of this spam, numerous creators have been disabling comments entirely, cutting off Youtube community interaction by necessity either until the comments are fixed (Knowing Google, this will be never or they'll make them worse) or until the spam dies down.
Basically if you want to have a shot at swaying their stubbornness, take your frustrations out on the source: Google. But do it in a way that is constructive. You don't want to sound immature while you do it otherwise they could just disregard your message thinking you are someone just venting frustration or a kid. The idea is to state a constructive reasonable argument.
Also, do not let up on it. All too often I see people doing the above things, but in time, most of them just start getting lazy with their complaints to the point they stop after a week or month thinking it's futile or they get used to the bad change. Both of which only tells Googletube that they are free to do what they want again and again and again, degrading the site over and over until it's not even the same site because people don't keep standing up against them. So keep sending your complaints over until it's fixed or changes, but in a way that it makes it look like you are trying to communicate with them without flooding their inboxes. Flooding only would make them want to ignore your messages because it's abusive.
Thanks for reading and have good one!
