AUGH JUST WATCHED PHM!!! (spoiler: I loved it)

AAAA ITS SO GOOD EVEN IF ITS NOT 100% BOOK ACCURATE I CAN READ THE BOOK WHENEVER I WANT!!!! Spoilers under cut:

ROCKY’S PUPPET WAS SO COOL AND ALL OF THE MARKINGS AND AAAAA HOW THE HECK DID THEY FILM THIS SO WELL?? I HAD TO REMIND MYSELF RYAN GOSLING DIDN’T ACTUALLY GO TO SPACE.

I like the addition of Carl’s character, and I understand why they had to cut out a lot of the side character stuff on Earth (the conversations with the crew, scientists, alternates, etc) I know it would’ve made the movie kinda drag pace wise if they went scene-by-scene

I noticed how they cut out the first taumoeba leak and blackout from the movie, how they cut the nukeing of Antarctica and the paving of the Sahara Desert, how they cut out the fact that Grace had to EAT taumoeba from Tau Ceti to Erid, and the conversation between Stratt and Grace before they drugged him to go on the ship.

ALL TO SAY THE MOVIE WOULD BE LIKE SIX HOURS LONG AND I TOTALLY GET WHY THEY CUT THAT STUFF MOVIE WAS STILL PHENOMENAL and to anyone who complains: just read the book again! That’s the beauty!!! It’s there forever!! Yay!!
