Goonivere I'm putting on my art fight profile. She likes to look at you. (Based on Miku Monitoring)
@wearilywary's character Goonivere (well, we co-created her), drawn for artfight. the background image is a photo I took of my street around Halloween, altered to look both more somber and more pixelated. The trash can I took off google images and drew on top of it. I don't know what perspective is
Joke OC, Goonivere Phlegmel. She is a slimegirl from the sewers in love with Skurret and is a diehard fujoshi. Inspired by Delirium from the Binding of Isaac and Harmony from Splatoon
Conceptualized by @mitspeiler
POV: you're a hotdog Goonivere found on the ground
A Goonivere I drew to put on my ArtFight profile. She sits atop a trash can that definitely doesn't have Skurret in it
All questions on Goonivere
you're insane
What inspired you to create your oc?
So there's this rat bastard character I made that you, specifically, are obsessed with, whose lore spiraled out of control. At one point in the past you suggested that one of my other OCs, a black slime girl named Wynetta, should be in love with him, and I vetoed it. After that I decided to create a character who was obsessed with him, who should be the inverse of Wynetta. Continued in the next question
2. Why does your oc look the way they do? What are your reasons for their appearance?
The aforementioned Wynetta is a tall, fat, voluptuous woman with a flat affect, and again, a black slime (black pudding I believe in dnd terms) so I decided her opposite would be a short, slender (bony even) (slimes have bones in this setting) creature with a creepy smile. Being as she waas a yandere stalker I said she should have long hair that covers her face like sadako, but all white, making her look like a ghost. Slimes in this setting also use fake eyes (in addition to fake bones) to see with that tend to have an eerie red, yellow, or orange glow. (hers started yellow but became red after the incident)
3. What is the origin of the character's name?
Goo + Guinevere, which apparently means white wave, an apropos coincidence. I made her juuuust before "gooning" became a popular term. Which is perhaps also an apropos coincidence
4. Why did you give them the name they have? What is the in-universe reason for their name?
I don't think all that deeply about names, lol. I go with something that sounds nice. I steer away from overly symbolic names since people in real life tend not to have them. That's not to say I never do it. In-universe, there's no real reason. My slimes have names with squishy sounds; Ws, Qs, Ss, though it's not a hard rule. just straight up putting the word "goo" in her name was rather lazy but I didn't expect her to take off and now I'm married to it
5. What kind of abilities and power level does your oc have? Why did you give them their powers? What's the in-universe reason?
Goonivere is rather lacking in combat abilities, but she is more powerful than the average human owing to her slime physiology. Actually, incidentally, slimes are called shoggoths in universe I'm just used to not using it. Anyhow, she can extend pseudopods from her body, breathes passively through her skin like a frog, and is covered in a highly acidic mucus membrane. She also has tremorsense, as shoggoths are naturally blind. She has an aptitude for magic but can't use it owing to a mental block. One of my friends insists she has clown immunity but this is not true. She actually just has very good luck owing to having a wishblade imbedded in her core.
6. What are the weaknesses in their power? Why did you give them their weaknesses? What's the in-universe reason?
Goonivere can't hold her humanoid shape without her skeleton, rather like a kandra from Mistborn. Her inability to use magic is owing to trauma from her backstory as a great sorcerer queen in ancient times, which she forgot all about.
7. Does your oc have any notable skills or good personality traits? Why did you give them those traits? Why do they exist in-universe?
Weird that these are the same same question. Skillswise she doesn't have a lot of useful abilities, other than being decent at stealth, what with stalking a certain rat bastard and living in his vents for an undisclosed amount of time. She likes animals and is good with pets. She is very friendly and good at making friends.
8. Does your oc have any notable flaws or activities they're not good at? Why did you give them those flaws? Why do they exist in-universe?
She has a couple flaws, same as anybody. She can be a bit airheaded and stubborn. It takes her time to see the truth when she's convinced herself of a lie for long enough. She also tends to hyperfixate on interests. It went from true crime to yaoi to blarthuriana.
9. In a group dynamic, what kind of role does the oc usually fill? Are they a worry wart? A troublemaker? The straight man?
She's the comic relief in any group, as well as being an incurable optimist. When necessary she will give her friends a pep talk, especially if they're feeling down about romance.
10. What is your favorite trait regarding your oc?
her beautiful soul
11. What is your least favorite trait regarding your oc?
true crime fujoshi wombo combo
12. Which canon characters (if any) do the oc have good relationships with? Why those characters?
Goonivere is weird because she lives in my spaceverse which has become a big silly playground for AUs of all my characters and all your characters. She's on good terms with everyone except skurret, who hates her and whom she has become extremely jaded over. Oh the question means like as a fandom thing. nah it's an original setting. all canon. Or none of it is. Or something
13. Which canon characters (if any) do the oc have bad relationships with? Why those characters?
See above
14. Did you give your oc a love interest? Is it another oc or a canon character? Why?
Lol, originally obsessed with that rat bastard as a karmic punishment for him. I eventually gave her to wynetta as a wife (in a future split timeline) and a tragic romance with king blarthur (a whole other can of worms). Also I married her in a dream lmao
15. How does your oc interact with the canon narrative? What about it do they change?
Fandom specific question
16. What aspect(s) of the universe's lore are they connected to? Do they change/add lore to the universe?
Fandom specific question
17. List/describe up to five tropes that apply to your oc. They could be related to the oc's characterization or their narrative arc.
Yandere (she got over it), gag character, sunshine girl, amnesiac, chosen one, sort of, I guess
18. Imagine meeting your oc. What would you want to say to them or do with them?
Well I married her in a dream, so that might mean something
19. How might your oc react to finding out you are the one responsible for their life?
She would hug me and say thanks for the memories and burn my skin because she forgets she is acidic
10. Share a random piece of trivia about the creation of your oc. Examples: scrapped ideas or changes you didn't expect to make.
I didn't expect to love her. I intended for her to be an odious little creature but when the first art came in I did an immediate 180 and now he's one of my faves.
