Hey, Moscow Mitch, why don't you just give everyone a membership to the jam-of-the-month club?
The Bright Side.
When something bad happens, people always say ‘Look at the bright side of things’. Does something as such exists, or is it just a matter of perception? If something bad happens to me, and if I end up looking at the bright side of it, most probably i will not end up learning anything out of he whole ordeal..
Though I agree that adding such a perspective can help someone going through a bad phase in his/her life to handle it better, but does that help the person to become stronger is the real question we should ask. Because ultimately the whole purpose of such events in life is to make us stronger and more able to deal with our mortal existence. And not to mention, bad things keep happening during our life time, and if we keep looking at the bright side, one day all our positivity will run out, and then what do we do is a completely different story.
If we consider negatives to be a river, and this positive attitude to be a dam, one day the river will overflow, and when the dam breaks, we are bound to flood our minds with all that worry. There might be people in this world (not me) who might even consider optimism as a sign of naivety.
On a close introspection, is it really naïve to see a brightness in every dark corner of life? This is more like food for thought for you all, stead of me writing about something. Though this might seem somewhat of a pessimistic article in nature, I guarantee you that is not so.
Like they say ‘Hope for the best, prepare for the worst’, and the chances are more for that to happen in life, or at least to most of us. But to all you people who keep that smile up no matter what, let me tell you this my friend, you have an ability that most of us can only dream of, be proud of it, naivety or not, and may your troubles disappear like food in a room of guys.
