i’m so down for the list of five things but unfortunately i meant to type fics

I don't know of any fics with Gordon Lundt in them but you know what they say, be the change you want to see in the world in this case I want to see a Gordon Lundt fic and so I will be doing that as soon as I can!! To tide you over until then I'll just list 5 random headcanons about Gordon Lundt.

1. Lundt will work for anyone and do whatever as long as it benefits him, he is an agent of chaos. 2. Lundt really did feel enamored by Holt after the museum and was going to just leave but decided to stick with John Kelly after Holt&Jake decided to do a double-cross. He still liked Holt but then he thought he’d might as well be on the winning side.3. He’s very flirtatious even when he’s not trying to entrap someone. He’s a...very. Good. Personal assistant. 4. His favorite ice cream flavor is the cone. 5. Less about Gordon but Holt has a type and it’s seemingly boring men who are cutthroat as hell underneath it all.

Final Thoughts: “The Honeypot”

I remember when the Brooklyn 99 Instagram posted a teaser photo with Gordon and Holt by Gina’s old desk, people freaked out about Gina being replaced. They should have known better than to worry, because these writers had no intention of doing that and gave us a very fun episode. 

Holt tells Jake that life doesn’t need to be a “Thomas Cruise” movie, but this plotline is precisely that, with tropes such as seducing the enemy and double-crosses. Brooklyn 99 does this in a way where the tropes don’t feel stale or too obvious. That’s likely because Holt is the Tom Cruise in this plot--his seducer is almost as stoic as he is, and all the crosses at the end are just funny.

Commissioner Kelly hasn’t been mentioned much since he made his appearance in “Hitchcock and Scully” and this episode quickly reminds us how much a threat he poses. This is not the last time we’ll see him, I’m sure, but it’s nice that Holt gets to have the upper hand, at least for now. I don’t expect, however, to see Gordon Lundt again, so let’s give props to Karan Soni. He might always be Dopinder in my mind, but he did a great job matching Andre Braugher’s stone-faced demeanor.

The plot for those left in the bullpen seemed like a nice return to form. Amy forcing the 99 members in the overcrowded bullpen to be organized could come off terribly, but it feels so appropriate for Amy and everyone else knows and accepts it. The fact that it is Terry’s reason for his attachment to the suspenders that breaks her laser-focused organizational train is so endearing, as is Terry in general. Rosa gets to remind everyone of her love for Nancy Meyers’ movies and shoot a flaming arrow in the same episode, and that feels so right. Boyle is the most sidelined here, but his revelations of his urologist birthday card and his grandpa’s tiny foot suffice.

Overall, I think this was a great episode. Brooklyn 99 is settling into a good groove on NBC, and I hope that’ll continue for many seasons. Seriously. Please renew this show, NBC.
