❤️Happy tenth anniversary Ginny and Josh ❤️
GOSH IS MARRIED.
I AM NOT OKAY.
THEY'RE OFFICIALLY MARRIED.
MR. & MRS. DALLAS.
NOPE.
It's Finally Happening
The music was playing, she was supposed to be walking. She couldn't bring herself to walk around the corner. Not when she knew what would be waiting at the other end of the ‘soft rose’ runner. There was no way she could start walking.
What if everyone thought she looked bad. What if she still had some of that bagel in her teeth. She knew she should have brushed her teeth, a mint wouldn’t do anything... Oh god what if her dress wrinkled when she sat down for those two minutes. What if she had smudged her makeup when she pushed her bangs our of her face, or worse, what if her hair got messed up. Yeah there was no was she could start walking.
It wasn’t perfect. She had no way of knowing if everything was perfect. She was the bride no one tells them anything so they don’t get stressed out... It was happening, everyone else is already down the aisle.
Her heart felt like it was about to explode, shooting the worry that was trapped inside it throughout her body.
Her eyes widened, her hands still clutched at her dress in case she decided to walk.
Suddenly her back straightened from the hunched position it was previously in. She took a deep breath, then another. She shook out her shoulders as the music started to slow, almost as if her mind had stopped time.
Her steps were normal, she knew that, but it felt like her body was set in slow motion, as was the world around her. The violinist’s bows seemed to move back and forth at a speed that was nonexistent. But she saw everything out of the corner of her eye, she had her tunnel vision set straight ahead. Nothing was stopping her from making it to the end of that aisle, saying what needs to be said, kissing the man who she could physically feel staring at her, and walking back down with his hand in hers.
Finally, she made it to her destination. Her vision was now set on the incredibly handsome guy in the (slightly wrinkled) tux she’d picked out. It took all her energy not to try and smooth out his bow tie.
It wasn’t perfect. It was a mess. Her shoes were probably scuffed, and for god sake his tux was wrinkled! Nothing was in her control anymore. Why was nothing in her control. The past eight months she’d spent getting everything just the way she wanted it. Everything was planned to her liking. But now everything was going wrong and all she was supposed to do was stand there.
“You look gorgeous.” she barely heard Josh whisper to her.
Once those words processed to her mind, it was like a rush of relief cleaned out her entire being.
Her eyes lifted from there they looked to the floor, and focused on him. His sweet, innocent, loving, smiling face. His eyes were like a vacuum, sucking out the need she felt for everything to be perfect. The longer she looked into them, the better she felt.
The ceremony started and ended in a blink of an eye to Ginny. Within an instant, Josh brought his lips to hers and they walked swiftly down the aisle.
Both of their hands were sweaty and that made her smile.
She liked that he was nervous. She liked that he cared as much as she did about all of this. He probably wasn’t worried about a wrinkled dress, or crooked bow tie. Now neither was she.
The couple was about to go take their wedding pictures when Josh stopped them and just looked at Ginny.
“What is it?” she asked nervously.
“Oh nothing...” he said, “I just can’t get over how beautiful you are.”
She felt her cheeks turn red, “You think so...”
He took her hand and spun her around before bringing her into his arms.
“I really do.”
In that moment, her whole body went numb. The only thing keeping her on her feet was Josh’s arms around her.
She didn’t even notice that the photographer was taking pictures of them, in this innocent embrace.
After he got his shot, the photographer instructed the newlyweds to go to the garden, where he took pictures of Josh putting a flower in Ginny’s hair, Ginny placing several roses (thorns still in tact) into Josh’s breast pocket, the two laughing all the while.
Once Ginny had taken her pictures with her bridesmaids, and Josh with his groomsmen, the two reunited and started walking into the reception.
“Oh, my gosh!” Ginny exclaimed as she almost tripped.
She looked back to see her shoe stuck in a crack in the sidewalk. Josh bent down and got the shoe unstuck.
“My lady.” he said, offering the shoe to her so he could slip it onto her foot.
She giggled and he put her shoe back on her foot, then laced his arm through hers and the two walked down the sidewalk once again.
Once inside, they cut the cake then split up to go and greet all of their guests.
Finally, they went to the head table and had a moment to themselves, well almost to themselves.
“Josh I need to tell you something...” she sighed as she placed her hand on his arm.
“You forgot to wear the ‘bridal’ underwear I got you? Yeah I know that. When I put your shoe back on I saw up your slip.” he reassured her.
Her mouth hung open for a moment before she lifted her hand off his arm and smacked him on the chest.
“Ok that was not where I wanted to go with that conversation...” she laughed, “But I do have something important to tell you.”
“More important than underwear that says ‘property of Josh’ on the butt?”
“Yeah a little bit more important than that.”
Josh saw the worry polled behind her still sparkling eyes. He turned in his chair to face her, and he took her hands in his.
“Well what it is my love?” he said in a quiet voice.
“Josh I was nervous before I walked down the aisle.” she spat out quickly.
As he watched her, he saw that she looked rather relieved by having said what she did. He looked at her as if there was more and she looked at him expecting a reaction.
“Is that it?” he asked her.
“Well... yeah.”
“Ginny that’s nothing to get upset about, I was nervous as well. I don’t think that really matters anymore.” she just looked at him so he continued, “It is a bit of a stressful day, but I love you and you love me so I think we’re ok.”
He smiled at her before pinching her cheeks and making her smile herself. The two then heard glasses clinking from all over the room, sighed, and kissed each other. They both laughed when they heard the some of their guests clapping for them.
As the night went on, Ginny’s shoes did indeed get a little scuffed, and Josh’s bow tie just couldn’t seem to stay where Ginny placed it. Some of the flowers arrived late, their food was a little cold, and Josh kept tripping over his own shoelaces. But those things only made Ginny laugh. Earlier in the day she might have melted down, but when Josh was holding her or had his arm around her, how could anything go wrong. His touch and even his presence made all her worried just drain into the floor, hopefully never to return. She was glad she’d realized such on her wedding day. For the rest of her days she would have him to take away whatever negative thoughts found their way into her mind.
She would always have him to put her shoe back on her foot. He would always be there to find the perfect flower to put in her hair, one that matched her earrings of course. His assistance would always be available to wipe frosting off her cheek after he’d fed it to her.
After just a few hours of being married to Josh, she knew she had a lot to look forward to.
Baby? Part Twenty
The reception was beautiful, that year of planning really paid off. The room was decorated with red and pink everything. The tablecloths were white, with pink chargers and red plates on top. The centerpieces were, as Ginny and Josh planned in the early stages of her pregnancy, pink flowers in a vase filled with little plastic red gems. The cake was a three tier chocolate mousse cake, with white icing and red and pink fondant flowers on top. And there was also a cupcake tree, because Ginny LOVES cupcakes, and insisted that they have it in addition to the cake. The cupcakes were red velvet, with cream cheese frosting.
The wedding was in the middle of the day, so no major meals were served. They only had snaky food, mainly sweets. Josh insisted on a candy bar, and Ginny gladly adopted the idea. Melanie and Matthew also loved the candy bar, however Ginny didn’t let them eat too much candy because they would be going to Josh’s parents that night, and she did not want them all hyped up.
When they were about to cut the cake, Ginny pulled Josh aside.
“If you smash that cake in my face, you will regret it for the rest of your life.” she said, pointing her finger at him.
“Ok I won’t be a smasher...” he said, defeated.
The two cut the cake, and Josh fed his piece to Ginny. But, when Ginny fed hers to Josh, she did what she told him not to do. She smashed the cake into his face, and tried to run away. But, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her back.
He decided to be nice, and just smeared some frosting on her nose. She giggled, and he let her go.
They let the servers cut the rest of the cake, and serve it to the guests. Ginny ate her cake, and ate three cupcakes as well. Josh only ate one cupcake, but he ate three pieces of cake.
The DJ started playing the music, and everyone went to the dance floor.
After an hour of dancing, Ginny and Josh decided that it was time to take their wedding photos.
The two walked out to the garden with the photographer. They took a few pictures just the two of them, then Ginny took a picture with her bridesmaids, and Josh with his groomsmen. Then, they got Melanie and Matthew and took some cute picture.
They put Melanie and Matthew in the swings, and took a picture of them pushing them. They also took multiple pictures of them sitting in the garden with Ginny and Josh.
Ginny and Josh decided that it was time to go home, as the guests were leaving.
They said goodbye to their twins, and drove back to their apartment.
They got back to the apartment, and Ginny kicked off her shoes.
“Oh my gosh, I am never wearing heels again.” she said, rubbing her feet.
“Beauty is pain.” Josh said, unbuttoning his dress shirt and finally breathing.
“I guess it is.” Ginny said, unzipping the back of her dress, and she too was able to breath again.
“Hey woah, it is my job to take you out of that dress.” Josh said, lunging toward Ginny and finishing the job.
She giggled and stepped out of her dress. She went into the closet, and hung it up because she did not want to ruin it. She then walked back into the living room only wearing her slip. Josh was only wearing his dress pants.
She walked over to Josh, and laced her arms around his neck. He smiled, and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. She stood on her toes to reach his lips, as she was now much shorter than him without her heels.
Ginny pulled away and seductively said, “Let’s do something we haven’t done in about a year and nine months.”
He led her to their bedroom, and they got tangled up in the sheets into the late hours of the night.
They fell asleep wrapped up in each other’s arms. They woke up the next morning in the same position.
“Good morning my love.” Josh said, brushing the hair from Ginny’s face.
“Morning.” she said, stretching her arms and realizing that she was not wearing any clothes, and quickly covered herself with the sheet.
“You don’t have to do that.” he said, pulling her down to his level.
She giggled, and removed her hands from where they rest behind her back.
“Oh, my ring! It’s gone!” she cried, looking at her hands.
Josh got up from the bed, and put on some boxers. He then, began to look round the room for his wife’s wedding ring.
“I will find you!” he said, “I will always find you!”
Baby? Part Nineteen
Months of planning had gone into this day, well actually over a year. Ginny and Josh’s wedding day was finally here. They were already married of course, but this was the big day they had both hoped for.
“Let’s get you ready, Melanie.” Ginny said, to her now one year old.
Ginny was already dressed, and ready for the ceremony, but Melanie was still in her jammies.
Ginny pulled her little pink dress over her head, and slipped on her red shoes.
“Your hair is getting long.” Ginny said, brushing Melanie's wild hair out of her face.
Ginny set Melanie down on the floor to play with her toys, and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked beautiful. Her hair was done just right. Her makeup was perfect, not too little, not too much. With red lipstick to make everything pop.
Her dress was flawless. It was a satin, mermaid style dress, tight along her body, then flared out mid-calf. It had beading along the bust, and little one inch straps.
Her shoes, were beautiful strappy heels. They were light red, almost white. They had little, marron gems on the big strap.
She was wearing a silver necklace, with a single ruby hanging from it. Her earrings were rubies as well. And she had a charm bracelet that her mother gave her, with a red heart charm, and two pink and blue heart charms.
Everything was perfect.
She smiled, and lifted Melanie into the air.
“Let’s go my little one.”
She walked out into the hallway, and handed Melanie off to her sister, Melissa. She would carry the fidgety one year old during the ceremony.
Ginny took a deep breath, and headed out to the alter.
---
Josh straightened out his red bow tie, and looked in the mirror. Looking sharp, he thought.
He was wearing a black tux that Ginny had picked for him, with a maroon bow tie. His shoes were new, and very shiny. He knew that no one would pay any attention to what he was wearing, but he wore the tux for Ginny. He knew that she would notice, that she would pay attention.
He turned around to look at his son, sitting in the big hotel bed.
“Daddy. Daddy.” Matthew said, pointing to Josh’s shoes.
“What? Oh thank you, buddy.” Josh bent down and tied his shoe.
He finished the knot in his shoelace, and picked up Matthew.
“You look pretty sharp yourself. Let’s go get me married.”
Josh walked over to the entrance of the courtyard, and set Matthew in a wagon.
Josh and Ginny had worked the babies into the wedding, they planned that Matthew would be the ring bearer and Josh would pull him down the aisle in a wagon. And Melanie would be the flower girl and Melissa would carry her down the aisle, while she dropped pedals across the runner.
The doors opened in front of him, and he started down the aisle. Everyone turned their head to watch the groom walking to the alter.
He made it to the end of the aisle, and waited for the rest of the wedding party to make it there as well.
---
The music started, and Ginny took a deep breath. Then, she walked down the aisle. She got many smiles from everyone who attended. But, she didn’t look at them, she looked at Josh. He was standing there, looking at her, with the sweetest smile on his face. As she walked closer, his smile only got bigger.
She finally made it to him, and took his hands. He winked at her and she giggled.
The pastor started the ceremony, and the two never took their eyes off of each other.
In the middle of the ceremony, Ginny heard a little voice behind her.
“Momma. Momma.” Melanie said, reaching for Ginny.
Everyone laughed, and Ginny turned around and got her daughter from her sister’s arms. Josh smiled when she turned around, and they continued the ceremony.
After a few minutes, Ginny handed Melanie back to her sister, but she started to whine so Ginny continued to hold her.
Then, a few more minutes later, Melanie wanted to go back to Melissa, so Ginny handed her back.
Ginny and Josh read each other their vows, and the ceremony drew to a close.
“You may now kiss the bride.” the pastor said.
Josh grabbed Ginny’s hands and pulled her close, capturing her lips in a loving embrace. He had to keep this PG, he thought, his kids were watching.
When he pulled away, he was left with red lipstick on his lips. Ginny wiped it away with her thumb, and giggled.
Josh turned around and picked up his son out of the wagon. Ang Ginny turned around and picked up her daughter from Melissa. They took each other’s hands and walked back down the aisle to the reception.
