It’s sad Gossamerkit thinks that way about her mom. Is Ryeshade not being an attentive parent? Or is she giving other reasons for Gossamerkit to feel that way?

Do the other kits thinks that as well?

The real lore i went with is that the kits are Zarya's. If you look at past updates, they were flirting but Zarya is a bit of a charmer. Nobody asked where his other kids came from and no one cared, but it makes more sense to Ryeshade now. Rockkit has his eye color and I tried to make Gossamerkit's fur sort of resemble Zarya and his kits' fur shapes. Luckily for Ryeshade, they all look like their mama.

Ryeshade is suffering from postpartum depression and general depression from a not fully requited relationship ending with an unwanted pregnancy. She isn't present for her kits and while most members of the clan understand that she's having a rough time and are more than happy to watch her kids in the time being, they're slowly realizing she isn't coming around and getting back into spirits to raise her kids but is instead drifting further away from them now that she knows they aren't suffering without her support.

I tried to sort of allude to it in the story, but maybe I wasn't clear enough, oops. I don't have any plans for it to be said explicitly for the time being but we'll see where it goes.
