G O S S I P . . . How do you feel when you read that word? Are you a person who gossips? Do you thrive on drama? Have you ever heard something about YOU that was repeated back to you with extra bits added? How did you feel then? I have been guilty of gossiping in the past however not very long ago someone told me something about a person that was not very kind and the person they were talking about was ME!! I was SOOOOOO upset, SOOOOOO confused, SOOOOOO angry, SOOOOOO hurt...and THOSE feelings taught me how unneccessary and how damaging gossip really is... I do my best to work an 'honest program' and to keep 'my side of the street clean' and just the other day I was in a situation where I was asked about someone who I knew who was going through a difficult time...and I replied "it is not my business to share another person's business" and I walked away....now, for years I have worried about what everyone thought about me, what everyone said about me, and so on... THAT day was my turning point... Gossip kills... Restraint of PEN, TONGUE and FINGER is a superb rule to live by... If every single one of us refrained from talking unkindly about others then there would be no gossip!!
