The new (and improved) Ferrante Waters family
Talking about the GoT AU, I mentioned that there are lots of things that I would change, and at first I didn’t really want to bother with it and stick to what I have already done. But then I just said who cares SO here’s a very unserious and messy list of some changes I’ve been cooking:
• No changes in the Waters family’s origins except for Sebastian. I’m going to add him in the lore post I made last year cause I can’t really bother to make another one. Short summary, he was born from a fleeting relationship Vincent had in King’s Landing before leaving for Essos. When he comes back with his wife and his first child, he learns about Sebastian’s existence and decides to raise him along his children. However, he’s treated differently, his brothers tend to cast him aside. He has a good relationship with Nina, though.
• Nina’s lore and journey stays pretty much the same. They try to marry her off to Stephan Bolton, she says ‘hell no’ and fucks off to Essos for like six years.
• I might change Luca Changretta helping her through her journey, but I’m not sure. Mostly because I have no idea who would. It was an experiment, and I just ran with it since I needed someone from Essos to be heading there, but considering the og!universe, it doesn’t really make sense.
• Another thing I’m changing is Petyr (Pietro) being Lord Commander of the Kingsguard during Aerthurys’s rule. None of that crap. I just wanted to torture him a bit (there’s a bunch of lore I didn’t share back then, let’s just say that he didn’t really want that). Now he’s following his father’s steps—it should’ve been his destiny all along.
• Now Salladhor (Salvatore). At first I though about keeping him being sent to the Wall because he’s very likely to kill someone’s BUT I’m gonna spare him.
• Because it’ll be Sebastian who’s sent to the Wall. Because he’s a bastard. I mean, all of them are something like bastards, but he’s like bastard^2 cause he’s from another mother.
• I might even let Victor (Vittorio) live. But I’m not promising anything. Oh and as for him, I’m thinking about making him Nina’s twin. The first time I mentioned him was in THG AU, where I needed him to be older, but I always thought he’d work much better as Nina’s twin. In all universes—original, modern, GoT etc. He still hasn’t been mentioned in the og!universe because he’s not relevant yet, so I don’t have to change anything there (explaining why it would make much more sense would need a different post lmao).
Because at the end I just want all of them to have a blast. No more drama, they’ve got enough going on already in the other universes. I’m also dropping the ‘Tommy might want to usurp his brother’s throne’ idea (in the first version of the GoT AU Aerthurys was king). No drama. It would’ve been very interesting to write, I’m not gonna lie, but it would take a whole series and I wanna use my energy for HBS.
• Additional info: the one thing that has always been “canon” is that nobility will be granted to the Waters family, and I’m keeping this. It’s called The Rise of the Bastards, after all. They will take the name of ‘Ironwing’, Nina’s dragon, which has always been a nod to the og!family surname (‘Ferrante’ from ‘ferro’ = ‘iron’). It was him who changed their destiny, after all.
