That scene had “romantic” written all over it /scene1.the reunion
People have been calling this side of the fandom delusional and saying that there’s nothing romantic between jonsa, and they’re not totally wrong on the romantic part because jonsa are not a couple, they didn’t kiss, they didn’t explicitly stated that they were into each other, they are brother and sister wich means they shouldn’t have that type of love for each other.
l started this a few months ago but my lazy ass couldn’t finish it because it was too long , so instead of making a parallel between the reunion scene and the goodbye scene as l planned l decided to make “a that scene had romantic written all over it” series . and the first scene is obviouly the reunion.
ln my opinion jonsa was written from the start as a romantic dynamic and not a brother and sister’ dynamic because every jonsa scenes are shot like a romantic scene and have romantic vibes ..ambience, snow, candles, balcony, close-up, hand grabs, deep stare into each other eyes …..)
Before their reunion jon makes a decision, he tells edd that he’s going to leave the NW and go South, to chill because he’s tired of fighting. But what he doesn’t know is that he’s about to receive a visit from someone, and that visitor is going to change his entire life.
In the first scene they share jon is on the balcony looking at a woman, a Redhead back ( he doesn’t know who she is he knew a redhead who died, and the only other redhead he can think of is his sister but it cant be her… she’s either in the South or dead) and sansa is looking around trying to see where jon could be but she doesn’t see him!
Then she turns around slowly and she sees him, the man she’s been looking for, the man who’s going to save her ,the only man she believes and knows will respect and treat her right. Jon…jon is still on the balcony literally speachless, he can’t believe his eyes, he has to take a step back and look at her again to make sure that he’s not dreaming or allucinating.
Ok did you see that shot YEAH that shot !! that shot is straight out of a romantic movie, we have edd looking at jon who’s staring at sansa and Brienne at sansa who’s staring at jon, and people around jonsa stopped doing what they were doing just to look at them. It’s as if time has stopped for a few a minutes and the only people that are still moving are jon and sansa, who only see each other and nothing else(it’s as if they were alone in the univerese) .
Once he’s sure that the woman he sees is real that he’s not dreaming he then starts walking towards sansa without taking his eyes off her, l said he doesn’t take his eyes off her!!
Most certainly because he’s affraid that if he takes his eyes off her she might disappear.
Sansa does the same too she watches him walk towards her without taking her eyes off him.
If you don’t Watch got and you see this scene for the first time l’m 99% sure that your first thought would be it’s “two lovers reuniting” or “ long lost lovers reuniting" this looks like a scene straight out of a romantic movie.
You know what that reunion scene reminds me of ?! that scene reminds me of the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. That romeo and juliette scene stands alone as one of literature’s most romantic scene between two lovers. It follows the meeting of Romeo (who has just spent several weeks pining over an unrequited love ,Rosaline) and Juliet at a masquerade party in Juliet’s home. Romeo and his friends sneak into the party uninvited, and when Romeo sees Juliet, he is instantly smitten. After the party romeo ditches his friends, jumps over the Capulets’ garden wall and searches for Juliet.
Jon before he reunites with sansa all he wanted was to leave the NW and go South and then sansa came and he completely forgot his plan, just like romeo who instantly forgot Rosaline when he saw juliet.
