Game of Thrones 6x07 - The Broken Man
Game of Polls 6x07 “The Broken Man” Results
Whelp, you probably didn’t need to see this to realize that Yara, the Swashbuckling abuser and rapist won handsomely with nearly half the vote. I don’t know if that’s thanks to her “tough love therapy” or empowerment kindly tailored to the male-gaze, but she fell flat.
In a healthy 2nd, we’ve got Sandor’s return, or should I say The Hound, as he started off driven by hate and anger, and then ended up driven by hate and anger, with a little hate and anger in between. Let’s hope he gets REVENGE!
Speaking of revenge, Sandra and Jonny’s quest for it was another stinker, coming in 3rd with 18.1% of the votes. That’s what you get when Davos and Wun Wun make better speeches than you.
To round it out, Arya’s plot-armor did earn her a decent 57 votes—nearly 8%.
Larry and everyone in Carol’s Landing had miserable showings this week, but don’t worry; Carol’s choosing violence tonight!
That review comes late.
Well we're starting off with Sandors storyline. I felt disappointed. Yeah he's back and that's nice but at the same time I know that the show writers don't know what themes or significant character changes are. Oh man I bet Cleganebowl's coming which would be the ultimate butchering of his character. I mean apparently HATE kept him going. Trying to find peace and hope and trying to move away from violence is apparently dumb and boring. According to the writers he comes back as a killer. They couldn't even make him brush with death a big deal. There were no consequences and nobody was affected by it. No Septon Meribald, no Elder Brother, NO GOD DAMN BROKEN MAN SPEECH!!!! What, that would be too long? Tyrion talked about beetles longer so shut up. Instead we get some dude called Ray who laughs at him for being almost killed by a woman. Toxic masculinity YAY!!!! Over in Kings Landing we get to see how Marg's just fooling around and has a great plan... which apparently involves leaving Loras in a cell and not trying to rescue him. He's the future of the Tyrells damn it. Also more Cersei/Olenna banter. Yeah I kinda liked that one bc Olenna slapped C around but that also meant more female catiness. Enough with that. The Jon/Sansa/Davos storyline is also a big disappointment. Wasn't it Sansas time to shine? She doesn't do anything of importance. She gets slapped around while wearing make up (historical realism) and has to write to the guy who sold her to her rapist. Effin disgusting. Other than that I love Lyanna Mormont. She's great. It just seems that the north forgot. The north doesn't remember shit. The north remembers what it wants whenever it wants to. The north has major memory loss. The north doesn't care about Rickon being hostage. As you can see I am bitter. Jumping to the Riverlands we see Jaime and Bronn. Another brotrip. Great. A little bit of book dialogue there but don't count me as impressed. The storyline got butchered anyway. Bronn wants a lordship, a castle, and a hot wife and Jaime promises all that to him. The only problem is that he is Lord Stokeworth. That's been seen in season 5. He has a lordship, a castle and a wife. It also looks like kingslaying is a big deal again. The Blackfish seems to be disgusted. Shame that he didn't offer Jaime a crown or something. Jump to Essos were Theon and Yara have landed in a really short time (TIME AND DISTANCE PROBLEMS AGAIN!). Worst pep up talk ever. Since when is it ok to shame someone for being tortured and probably has PTSD now? "Go kill yourself." How about killing me to end this pain? Thoug love my ass Benioff and Weiss. And over in Essos Arya dons the hardest armor ever. The plot armor of course. Hotah can die from a small knive into his back but she survives multiple stabs like a champ. The waif, a trained assassin, is not able to find her heart. She also has this personal grudge for whatever reason. Ridiculus.

“You don't cure it by dying either”
