Peach doodle but I made her look a liiiiittle bit more like a toad because why not

You can see the refs I had (pm64 paper peach, usual paper peach, smash bros peach) but I wanna go into a little more detail because I’m on the website where there is barely any shame so I can ramble whenever I want.

Colors: I took the colors from usual paper peach and a little bit from pm64 peach

Rest of the design: I wanted her to look more like a toad because that would be cool. Explanation is that she’s just really tall and her hair is just modified frills like on a mushroom or something, like spines are to leaves on plants (look, I’m an animal nerd, not a plant or mushroom nerd).

Her dress is rounder to resemble an actual peach, and the cloths that drape down are supposed to look more like leaves at the end. No particular why I did the skirt opening to another inner skirt thing. Just looked cool.

No particular reason for the sleeves, either. I think I just draw her sleeves like that. Not sure when that started or why.

The ends of her gloves are supposed to look rounder, and the waistband and thingy is taken from her older designs (mainly because of super Mario rpg. I got socialized with it before the remake was even announced so I got acquainted with that design a little lol). The white on the chest is taken straight from the smash bros design. I don’t even play smash bros, I just think the design for peach is cool.

I had a hard time with the crown. I couldn’t make it too tall, or else it would look weird, but I needed a bit of detail in it. This is what I ended up with. Still don’t entirely like it, but this is a doodle, so whatever.

Last thing is that her nose and ears got yoinked because I toad-ified her. And that’s it. Begone now.

I am terrified. I got in. I want held. I want sparkling cider. I want to weep in fear. But I’m sitting at a coffee shop, and can’t even comprehend.

I watched a couple, outside these giant windows, near collapse. One near shaking, clearly worried- if not terrified, the other, smiling openly, supportive- maybe dismissive.

I thought of Poet. On my bed, sure he was about to get told goodbye, and still saying it.

I am a mess. 

I want to ask her for help. I was supposed to have her help. This is so stupid. They were supposed to tell me no. 

But then, sometimes. 

I am so goddamn sure I am going to fucking kill this thing, and one day. I’ll look her square in the face, without flinching, with love and appreciation, because I will be in that space because one time she told me a story and then expected that if I was going to do it, I was going to do it well.
