For my video this week, I'd like you to ask me some "Would You Rather" questions. Book-related or not. Anything you got. Looking forward to it.

NEW VIDEO!
Wealth, money, and cost are an illusion. All of the systems and institutions created throughout history are man-made, thus consist of wonders but many many flaws. A lot of what we do and care about, practically speaking, are not important to our survival. What is important and what matters is what is important and what matters to you. Don't hurt people. Try to consider other people's points of view before you try to attack them, and if you have a good reason to do so, do it expertly and with solid evidence. Be kind. The whole world is not against you, but it isn't always for you. Love what you love. Think critically, even when it comes to those things you love most. Genres don't matter, only in a classification sense (and even then, that system is arbitrary). If you don't see yourself in a story, create a new one with you in it or someone similar. Don't take the good people around you for granted, and if you don't have good people around you, find some online. Work passionately. The present is already gone, so plan for the future, whether it's in the next few seconds, minutes, hours, or more. Imagine what Severus Snape wore under his robes or didn't. Laugh. Smile. Love. Accept love. High school matters until it doesn't. College matters until it doesn't. Grades are arbitrary. Learn for the sake of learning and learn well and hard. Intelligence is sexy. Acting superior or smarter than thou is not sexy, unless it's done with cleverness and wit and not intended to scar. Talk about your feelings. Dating sucks. Don't try to fit someone else's box. Don't judge yourself against others. Make mistakes; you will make so many. Be awkward. No one has "the answer." Find your own meaning. Don't listen to fools on Tumblr unless it helps. I love you.
5 Things About Me tag
Inspired by i-have-beards, I'm doing a 5 Things About Me tag. Joy! 1. I realized I was gay while reading Dracula. If you wanna hear *that* story, let me know: I might make a video about it ha. 2. My favorite movie is A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick. I am not Alex DeLarge. 3. I don't know how to ride a bike. I fell over on one once when I was little and haven't ridden one since. 4. I have a driver's license, but I hate driving. I don't own a car. 5. Joseph Heller's Catch-22 inspired me to be a novelist when I was 15, and I'm still trying. Allen Ginsberg's Howl and Other Poems inspired me to be a better person and live passionately when I was 15 and came out, and I'm still trying. No tags, but feel free to do this yourself!
NEW VIDEO: I review Lev Grossman's The Magicians! Excitement, She Wrote!

I've received a good amount of votes for the Beat Reads read-along so far and Kerouac's On the Road is in the lead. There's still plenty of time to vote for a book, so feel free to pick your choice at gotrilke.tumblr.com/beatreads! Wooh!
