Basic Information:
Subin has been writing his entire life. When he was younger, he used to try and write children’s books for his siblings to read at bedtime. As Subin went to school his writing evolved into short stories and poetry, and eventually lyrics as his interest in music peaked. In high school Subin won many different national poetry competitions including: W B Yeats Poetry Prize for Australia, Bronze Swagman Award, Adelaide Plains Poet Inc Poetry Competition, and The Bruce Dawe National Poetry Prize.
Subin was discovered by Rainstorm, one of JYP’s biggest producers, in 2013 shortly before GOT7 debuted, at a rap competition in Busan. Almost immediately Subin was accepted by the agency and gained a place in GOT7’s lineup. He was only a trainee for seven months.
In December 2016, Subin established his very own company called SubZero Entertainment. For about two years Subin used his company to direct music videos, model, and produce for other artists. And then in June 2018, under SubZero Entertainment, Subin released his first pre-release single under the company before making his full solo debut in August 2018.
Subin has always been one to keep everyone on their toes. He doesn’t like when people can predict what he’s going to do. So despite being the main vocalist of Got7, he decided to go on to Show Me The Money season five in 2016 where he was crowned the winner. And then, never wanting anyone to predict his next move, Subin decided to make his first solo Pre Release song “Wayo”; An acoustic track with soulful vocals. When the song dropped in 2018 fans were completely shocked at the direction that Subin took with his first ever solo song.
