Delicious white milk? 🥛 Thoughts by @domzthompson We have all been brought up with the idea that milk is good for you. We all recall those 'Got Milk' campaign commercials created by irresponsible marketers funded by the dairy industry. But current scientific evidence shows that growth factors and hormones in milk can promote the growth of cancer cells. Scientists now understand that cancer-causing genes may not become active unless particular conditions arise that switch them on. Cancer cells, scientists now believe, are hypersensitive to chemical messenger proteins called growth factors, as well as (in the case of hormone- dependent cancers) hormones such as estrogen. Produced by our own bodies and by other animals, growth factors perform vital tasks such as making cells grow. The risk of cancer arises when we have abnormally high levels of growth factors (or hormones) circulating in our blood. Cow’s milk [organic or otherwise] has been shown to contain 35 different hormones and 11 growth factors. High circulating levels of IGF-1, a growth factor found in milk (also produced by our bodies when we drink milk) is strongly linked to the development of many cancers. Bottom line, these same growth factors and hormones we produce are found in food that comes from animals, providing the very “fertilizer” that cancer cells need. Casein, the main protein in cows’ milk, is considered among the most dangerous. - @domzthompson #gotcancer #cancer #lactoseintolerant #fightcancer #dairyfree (at Bali, Indonesia)
