Forever: Mark and Ashton
Title: Forever Characters: Ashton and Mark (OC's) Words: 869
Mark and Ashton decided to take a trip solely for business endeavors. Ashton's associate had a colleague who give him a good deal for products. For safety and security reasons, he had asked Mark to tag along. It was hard to describe what the two of them were at this point. In the beginning, Mark would casually flirt with Ashton because he was cute. Later on, it grew to the two of them having a mutual attraction to the other. It was too dangerous for either of them to declare each other lovers, now that Ashton and Mark both had their fair share of enemies after being at this league of work for a few years. They were attracted to each other, yes, but hardly considering lovers except for in their own minds.
They had passed through security with ease. Luckily they didn't need to smuggle any product with them for this trip. Ashton was a little nervous, having a sort of a bad feeling about this whole trip and having second thoughts. Mark only put a gentle hand on his shoulder and kissed his cheek in assurance. It was all going to be ok and Mark was going to be sure to have Ashton keep his head up high. He saw Ashton through his worst of times and tried his hardest to be there for him as much as humanly possible.
"Maybe we shouldn't go..." Ashton chewed on his lip.
"It's ok...Luka assured us that this was a safe place. I trust him, you should too."
"You do...but I'm second guessing it after what he pulled with you..." Ashton's eyes flitted to the side, huffing under his breath.
"I told you...he didn't force me into anything. I wanted it too and I'm sorry..." He looked down. He had thought Ashton would drop that, but he supposed he wouldn't so easily. Not that he blamed him for it.
"Flight 246 en route to San Diego, now boarding." Called the announcer.
"That's our flight." Mark stood up and grabbed Ashton's hand, walking with him to the gate.
Ashton could only blush slightly and squeeze his hand just a bit. Mark's touch was always so comforting and he only wished he could really tell him how he felt about him, possibly actually becoming lovers once they gather enough money to not need this line of business anymore. Mark still needed the money to pay off college loans and for the apartment the two of them now shared. There was so much money that needed to go places that they were forced to keep dealing until they were more than caught up on payments.
Mark handed the attendant his and Ashton's tickets before being ushered into the plane. Luckily, he managed to convince Ashton to let them purchase First Class tickets. They would have needed it and Ashton really looked like he could use a drink or two on such a long flight. He reached over and fit their bags into the overheard compartment before seating beside Ashton, taking a spot closest to the aisle while the younger chose the window seat.
"Something the matter?" Mark rubbed his back gently.
"Mmm...no...just nervous is all."
"Wanna talk about it? Maybe have a drink?"
"A drink would be nice. I don't know, I'm worried and I can't explain it..."
Mark would be too, if he noticed the suspicious and creepy person sitting in front of them. Something about the guy rang warning bells in his head, but elected to ignore it for Ashton's sake. They should be ok.
"Just calm down, rest if need be. I'm here."
"Mm...okay..."
The plane took off and Mark ordered some alcoholic drinks for both him and Ashton, loosening him up a bit. For awhile, whatever worries they both had was gone. That was until the creepy man stood up and went to the cockpit. It seemed strange, perhaps he didn't know where the bathroom was. No...that wasn't it. What happened next was so surreal that neither of them could process what was going on as the events ran their course. Flight attendants screamed and gunfire rang in the cabin, forcing Ashton to take shelter in Mark's chest. Mark wanted to stop it, but he didn't want to leave his love alone. What was going to happen to them?
The next thing they knew, the plane took a sharp descent to the ground. Everyone around them were screaming and Ashton couldn't find himself to say a word. Mark clutched him tightly. "Ashton...listen to me...I want to tell you something..."
"...what?" His hands gripped Mark's shirt tightly.
"I love you...I love you so much. I want to even spend the rest of my life with you." The elder said desperately, keeping him close.
"M-Mark...I-I love you too...a lot..." He sobbed softly into his shirt.
"I want to stay with you...for the rest of our lives..." Mark wiped his tears and looked at him sadly, a tear dripping down his cheek. "It's going to be ok..." He kissed him gently, keeping Ashton distracted until the plane crashed hard into a small forest.
Both of them would not survive afterwards. The rest of their lives spent together were all but five minutes.
