just attended my first catholic mass and felt peace that i haven’t felt in years… there was a routine, and everything was so peaceful and beautiful

Last night I saw a documentary about how Victorians deal with death and they believed that you had to cover the mirrors so that your soul would not be trapped in them.

And last year, when my grandma died, my uncle, a goth Catholic, covered all the chrome surfaces and I was wondering why, but now I know.

He covered the stove, mirrors, faucets, windows and doorknobs, and we as a family were like "ok... That's weird but if it is something that makes him feel better then go on".
