Start again | Sally and Adder

It was a particularly stormy night. The wind howled and rain hammered down. Sally was fast asleep but Silver was finding it difficult, he couldn't settle and occasionally he would let out a little whimper to show his discomfort at the noises around him. Adder was also up, also having the same problem as his son, although unlike his son there was alot of things playing on his mind, one of them being a little insight into how Sally was feeling about how he could live on and leave everyone behind once they had slipped from this life into the next. She knew he had a choice, she knew when it came to his time being up, he could choose to become human or have his human abilities stripped and continue as he is and that choice was a difficult one.

He had about thirty years left to carry out the remainder of his penance, a long time in some people's eyes but to Adder it was thirty years dwelling on a decision he needed to make. He forced himself up and went into Silvers nursery and scooped the infant up before going to the little rocking chair and sitting down, laying Silver on his chest while he looked out the window, Silver settling somewhat while Adder drifted off into his own world before being snapped back round again by the whimper that came from Silver who was tightly gripping his shirt.

"It's okay...." Adder said softly " Daddy is here and I'm not going to let the wind hurt you, your safe with daddy" He said reassuringly as Silver looked up with him with his big deep brown eyes "You will learn one day, there are more things in life to be scared about then the weather. War, disease, famine....there are alot of things......but you will know you have a family that loves you very much and will always be there for you.....and one day you'll have a family yourself...."

Adder gently stroked Silver's hair, feeling himself get emotional, a knot tightening in his stomach. "I never told your mother....that I am scared of dying....but what scares me the most....is losing her and her forever thinking she was nothing more then a blip in my life....that she could never change me but in actual fact I'd give it all up for her......everything"

He looked down at Silver and noticed he had drifted off to sleep, Adder stroked his back and looked out the window.

"I need her in my life......Or I will spiral out of control"

The Capture | Adder, Sally & Edana

It was a gorgeous sunny afternoon, the park was a busy place but delightful to walk around. Adder was taking Silver round in his pram while Sally was back at home studying. Adder thought it would be wise to give the two month old some fresh air and sunshine and also give him a chance to interact with nature. Of course Adder was weighed down with a change bag, jam packed with all the essentials, just in case Silver needed a change or a feed. Sally encouraged it, the father son bonding time for Adder and Silver.

Adder found a nice patch on the grass and stopped. He applied the brakes on the pram and gently lifted Silver out who in turn grizzled slightly because of the sun light being a little too bright for his liking. Adder just chuckled and cuddled Silver before sitting down on the grass, watching the others basking in the sun or cuddling up to each other. It made Adder smile to be a part of this glorious day as well as to share it with his son.

"You will have plenty more days like this ahead of you son" Adder said softly as Silver calmed and took in his surroundings but Then Silver stopped and looked beyond his father, as if distracted. Adder frowned a little and looked in the direction Silver was staring.

Thor

He stood directly behind Adder, all dressed regally like he normally did when he had some important business to discuss. He sat down next to Adder and smiled at the infant in his arms.

"Your son gets cuter every day" Thor said "But father has had word....The assailant who captured you all them years ago, is back and Alive and well"

"........Okay?"

"In Fathers eyes this man is Dangerous, He managed to capture you...even in beast mode and take blood from you. No one knows his intentions for such..blood but it can't be for good and we can't run the risk of keeping him alive and your blood sample accessible. He needs eliminating, under my fathers orders and your blood sample destroying...and only you can do it."

"Alright....tell me where he is and I'll carry out your fathers wish."

"SHIELD" Thor replied calmly

Adder stared at the god in stunned silence. How long was this man working for SHIELD and what was his being there?

Silver.| Loki and Sally

Sally would often bring the young boy down when she came to visit Loki, allowing the god to hold the boy and cuddle him. At first it was uncomfortable for Loki. Silver would often wriggle, make noise, kick his legs, flail his arms around and stare at Loki and often Loki would look at Sally lost and a little panicked but after a while Loki got more confident around the infant and sure enough Loki was carrying Silver and talking to him like he was a father himself.

Today though, Sally brought Silver but the baby wasn't settling, he grizzled, cried, tugged at clothes and wouldn't nap. Loki put it down to it possibly being hot. He went over to the glass and watched as Sally juggled her job and her son and he could sense she was probably getting a little frustrated.

He gently tapped the glass to get her attention, when she looked he pointed to Silver and smiled at her.

"Perhaps darling Sally I can see to your son while you do whatever work SHIELD have put before you......I promise I won't hurt him."
