DOCTOR Harleen Quinzel or THAT's who she used to be one VERY long time ago. Before being fired by one Dr. Jonathan Crane. YEAH, fired by the SCARECROW.... I get how ridiculous that sounds, let alone that good ol' Johnny Scarecrow was a doc of Psychology. I guess that DOES tie into his ORIGIN story, but we're not here for that poser. We're here for another former doc of psychology, & one who currently goes by a name that EVERYONE knows, or at least should know, by now. The ONE, the ONLY, HARLEY QUINN!!!! Que confetti, jugglers, pyrotechnics, & ALL those fun & spectacular displays of extravaganza.
Yeah, THAT Harley. No she is NOT Joker's Harley,...... anymore. She IS, & has always been, her OWN woman. Just hit a rough patch with an abusive OAF! Anyway....Harley's free from that
BUT yeah, Harley Moved on. Vamoosed. NOT goin back. She had gone into psychology to try & HELP people, who like herself, had suffered from ABUSE. Abuse as a kid, & then more & more over her adult years, the Joker only being one of those TOXIC relationships that had shaped Harley into Dr. Harleen Quinzel, psychologist at BLACK GATE prison in Gotham City, New Jersey. Ya know, where she got FIRED from Screcrow. More over, those experiences continued to evolve her into the Harley Quinn that we all KNOW & LOVE.
It had been some time since Harley had left the Joker. Having moved on, dated Poison Ivy, did a SUICIDE SQUAD. Deep down, in Harley's CORE, she still wanted to help people. Now how could a former psychologist, gone VILLAIN, gone ANTI-HERO but still has a wrap-sheet a MILE LONG, get back to being a psychologist OR at the very least still help people? How could she HELP people so that she can try & try prevent what happened to her in her childhood NOT happen to ANYONE else. THE BATS!!!!!! BATMAN could probably help Harley, & more than likely would. He's always trying to help people. That's like his WHOLE thing. Right!?!?
So Harley gleefully, with PURPOSE went in search of Batman in the chilly, autumn night of Gotham city. Wearing her old, bright RED, HARLEQUIN spandex suit, SANS the cowl & hat. Harley DID still paint her face clown white, she DID also wore, what appeared to be, a dark colored metal, steampunk-looking goggles on with bright RED lenses, as well as a tattered looking jean jacket over top of her Harlequin suit, & SANS any sort of hammer, mallet, bomb, or the like. She was not looking for a fight. Just a FRIEND. Hopping a long the roof tops, listening for sirens or the sounds of some criminal activity. During her search Harley did find some lesser, small-time criminals doing FUCK-SHIT, watching & waiting for BATS to show up, but he didn't & if Harley let these goons finish then BATS won't show up, so she stopped them. She did this a few times throughout the night, on the fourth CRIME that she found, that she was watching, is when HE finally showed up. Harley waited until the BATS finished tying up the criminals before she emerged, hopping down from the rooftop.
"HEY BATS!!!!!" With an ear to ear GRIN on her face, she slowly walked up to Batman, waving her hand in greeting, hoping that he would NOT think she had ANYTHING to do with the crime that he had just STOPPED. After waving for a bit Harley stopped in her tracks, standing pin stripe straight, something that she DEFINITELY was NOT, but eh... this was just standing. Harley also put her arms & hands up in the air in a SURRENDER pose.
"I come in PEACE, Bats. I've been helpin ya all night. STOPPED 3 crimes earlier before findin this ONE. Been LOOKIN for ya. I need yer helps, if ya would." Continuing to stand perfectly still, arms up in the air. Pausing, waiting to see if Batman would believe her. It felt like an eternity of waiting for him to respond. Harley started to WIGGLE & DANCE in place, her feet staying together, only moving at the WASTE & HIPS, impatiently.
"PWEASE!?!?" Harley, you forgot to say please when you first explained everything to the BATS. Of course he's NOT gonna believe you, or help you. You idiot. He hasn't said ANYTHING yet though. He's the HERO remember? Harley waited fighting her anxiety of Batman not believing her and taking her in for a crime that she DIDN'T commit, instead of helping her to become GOOD again. Instead of helping her become Dr. Harleen Quinzel AGAIN.
