Noo. No hitting on anybody.

I love there's no gender conformity or discomfort with clothes. Which makes sense for Digimon, honestly. (I didn't catch what Pumpmon used, but Gotsumon I know I caught using "ore" which is typically a masculine pronoun for casual use.)

Gabumon, on a warm summer night, under hot city lights, and in a thick fur coat: Ice cream...

I adore the positioning of the kids in the back. Yamato is clearly guarding Takeru from any harm, and Gabumon is side-by-side with his partner but in a position where he could easily jump in front of him or Takeru to protect them if needed.

Yeah, they're just a couple lil guys having fun.

You could at least play along for a little bit 😠

This child is forever scarred from Patamon first evolving.

I didn't include a screencap with it, but I also love Patamon evolves before meeting up with the others. For only doing it once before, he's suddenly hit with Takeru's strong emotions and want to see him again, and Angemon doesn't really know what's going on except one of his friends is getting beaten up and Takeru is crying so obviously he's going to stop it.

I love this episode. It's more time to see the brothers together; Angemon finally shows up again, but I think what I like most about it is the tone. It's so light and fun compared to the episodes around it. Last episode wasn't too serious, but certainly compared to the coming episodes the majority are hit with a harsher tone shift. That makes the tone shift in this episode when Vamdemon murders his guys for goofing on the job hit like a truck. So much rage.

I'm not a fan of Digimon evolutions where the only thing that changes is the color. Color variant Digimon work better as alternates of the same level, like Agumon and black Agumon. I just think that Digimon evolution should be exciting and fresh and something like Leomon evolving to Leomon but white is lame and anticlimactic.

However, we need a ultimate/mega level recolor for Gotsumon. We have Gotsumon, Icemon, and Insekimon/Meteormon all being recolors and we need to complete the set. Don't half-ass it by going most of the way and then stopping. Give us an entire evolution line where nothing changes. It'll be funny.
