Chances that my blog will become very disorganized is high, so this is more for me than anyone else. If it helps anyone else that is here that's good too.
(It's long so I put it under the read more and quick tl;dr a simple rundown of how I tag stuff to make sure I keep myself consistent).
Updated February '25. Mostly adding clarifications on how I tag different character names and other additional nonfandom tags I often post about.
Post detailing about my planned hiatus of 2025 (reblogged post by my fandom blog with additions for this blog. Said blog is bigger so posted there first)
Will be most consistent with tagging fandoms with the shortened title over the full one. EDIT: "sailor moon" (fandom tag) has been changed to "bssm" (short for Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon). Sailor Moon tag is now dedicated to the character of Sailor Moon herself.
Usually tag characters with both full name and/or fandom + given name. EDIT: Some characters will be one or the other, not both. This depends on if they have a surname or family name, or if they have none and their name is common enough for needed clarification. ex: tagging "magi aladdin" to distinguish the character from other 1001 Nights adaptions or characters that share the name. All my Magi character tags use this whether or not they are adapted or original. This tagging system is brought over from my Magi blog.
Related to the above point, names will be written out depending on how I first learned them. Since I am a massive weeb, this goes for mostly Japanese names. I will tag "son goku" for Goku because that's how I learned it. Most naming conventions will follow Western naming conventions though because localizations I watched growing up switched them. Some names I will tag for both original and dubbed names because I myself will think of them interchangeably (mostly Digimon). I'm sorry for the confusion but I found I am not consistent with this across all fandoms. Once I start tagging a character a certain way I will keep it consistent for that character.
One more hiccup with character names. Instead of fandom + name some characters will be tagged with title + name if I find that more common and consistent within the fandom. (ex princess serenity, trainer/rival/gym leader etc. + name for pokemon).
Some characters may be actually just their given name and nothing else (as of right now that includes zelda and digimon or pokemon names).
I don't know what ships I will post about, so I don't know how I will tag most of them. However, I will probably have some romantic ship content on, so a head's up I guess to anyone who finds me on any of my random aro posts I make or reblog. Will be updated once I figure this out. EDIT: I'll use ship name (if common enough), along with name x name. They will also have a "shipping" tag (for if you want to find them or don't).
Non-specified text posts and/or update posts will be henceforth dubbed and tagged with "tumbleweed stars." I checked and unless someone created it within the last ten minutes of me making this post it should be good.
Will use "my stuff" and other similar tags for my own content and "not mine" for stuff that isn't. If anyone wants to filter through the blog one way or another.
I'm not planning to have many posts that will be needed to be tagged for warnings, but in case I do I will use no indicator (like simply "violence" by itself) along with a content warning prefix with no extra punctuation. Like so: cw violence.
My aspec tags will simply be "aromantic," "asexual," "aroace." If another relevant topic is mentioned in concerns to my aspec identities I will probably throw on what's relevant.
Other tags you may find on this blog: pixel art, scenery, palestine, free palestine, scenery, video (if post contains a video), and aly's digimon rewatch adventure (scheduled weekdays while on hiatus/because I like to schedule/queue things regardless).
If there's any concerns (like if I use proper warnings for things if I ever post sensitive content) please let me know. Otherwise, if it's a preference thing on what content you like to see, I'm sorry. I'm not going to section things off to different side blogs. I already have a Magi side blog I transferred over to this account for the majority of my original content for the fandom, and besides the possibility of a new side blog for my art if I ever do it frequently enough to warrant one, everything will be dumped here. I won't have the dedication or focus to organize several blogs and stay active (as much as I barely am) on tumblr otherwise.
