#SouthernRoots Been without power since last night, joining the over 100k customers without power just in my area. It's affected utilities lift stations, which means that now there's a danger of sanitary sewer overflow, so water restrictions are being put in place. And even though we've been battered by high winds and rain throughout the night, and it seemed to be lessening in the last 30 minutes, one report is saying #hurricane force winds could still come back and cross our area in the next hour. #Irma is tough, that's for sure...but by all accounts, we're tougher. Proper early preparations have gone a long way for everyone being able to get through what is being called the worst hurricane on record to hit our state. And it's been a tremendous help having government officials all the way from the office of the Governor down to local county and city officials, working in conjunction with Emergency Management, law enforcement, and emergency medical personnel, as well as getting up-to-the-minute tracking information, accurate and timely warnings, and getting what's turned out to be some of the most practical and invaluable information from neighbors and friends sharing updates, tips and info through social media. There hasn't been widespread panick, and the feeling of being there for one another, and of having one another's back, I think has made a big difference in how Floridians have handled this major disaster. It's truly been a team effort from one end of the state to the other. It's not over yet, by any means, but I gotta give our state props, we're remaining #FloridaStrong. @cyndichamberssports ••• •• • @fema @ocalamarion #governorrickscott @brockjuarez @kathyjohnsonbryant @daveschlenker @smileyheight @_flgovscott (at Florida)
