Stroller Reviews
Anyone who knows me knows that I can sprout an obsession over something randomly sometimes even over night. Ever since becoming a mom, I had and still do have an obsession with strollers. The idea of having my son in a comfortable stroller for long periods of time intrigues me as well as how much storage a stroller has. The weight of a stroller also arouses me. Some strollers are so light weight and some are just plain old weighty. I’ve owned it all, light weight strollers, limited edition strollers, extravagant celebrity strollers to a simple common stroller. I have also owned strollers from around the world such as USA, Italy, Amsterdam, and Norway. So can you tell yet? Yes I am a bit obsessed. Below are the PERSONAL reviews of my strollers that I still own and once pre-loved. You may beg to differ but once again, its a PERSONAL review aka my opinion.
1. The Graco® Modes™ Click Connect™ Travel System ( MSRP $369.99 )
Graco is a USA stroller and the brand is one of the most common and very known in the world. This was the stroller I had put on my registry when I was pregnant. What appealed to me most about it, was that it had 10 different seating positions! This stroller was in competition with the Britax Agile and it seems that people who own a Britax, isn’t as happy as they thought they would be! This stroller is and will forever remain number one on my list. The stroller has a massive amount of storage room on the bottom as well as 4 cup holders! I am able to store my baby bag, a cooler bag and my purse in the basket underneath. The seat faces the parent or the outside world and my favorite part of the stroller is that the seat reclines 180 degrees! This is my go to stroller when it comes to vacations! However, for me it is a very heavy stroller but not not enough of a reason to get rid of it! Since it’s so heavy, this stroller stays in daddy’s car. Im not really a fan of the fabric pattern of the stroller but at that time, it was the only option they had but had i been pregnant now, I would have chosen the gray fabric. So far, this has been my son’s favorite stroller where he can be in there for long periods of time.
2. Chicco Capri C6 Lightweight ( MSRP $70.00 )
Chicco is a brand from Italy. Another well known and commonly used brand for all parents. This is the lightest stroller I’ve owned. My mom mostly uses this stroller and it stays in her car. It folds easily and has an easy to carry strap as well as a very space saving stroller. However, it is very hard to maneuverer and the seat reclines very limited so a child that is sleeping in the stroller may have his head tilt forward because the seat barely reclines. I recommend this stroller for caregivers and grandparents using it for short distances or trips.
3. Limited edition Maclaren BMW Buggy - Silver ( MSRP $450.00)
When you pull into a playground, all the parents will know your baby is in a BMW because of the BMW logo located on the wheels, the buckle and on both sides of the canopy. This luxury stroller is ravishing. Ultra lightweight and the storage is placed behind the seat and very very roomy! The storage is more of a storage bag with a zipper. The seat reclines with a push down button to a comfortable rest position where a baby can sleep as well. The cushion is extremely cozy and made with high quality fabric. I used this stroller when my son was 6 months old and as much as we loved how convenient it was for US, my son was too young to sit in it, only because he felt too low to the ground and it didn’t incline at a good enough angle for him to see everything that was going on around him. This stroller is highly recommended for toddlers. The stroller is currently sitting in my garage and i plan on using it more when my son turns two.
4. Bugaboo Cameleon ( MSRP $1,099.05 )
Oh the famous bugaboo brand from Amsterdam! Iconic in NYC and celebrity sightings with this stroller. The bugaboo was my first high end luxury stroller. If you’re into high end strollers, you know the forever famous battle, BUGABOO VS STOKKE ! They will always be in competition until God knows when… This stroller is a very versatile stroller. You can forward and rear face the seat but the amazing part of this is that if you’re child is already in the seat and you want to change his seating position, instead of taking him out and turning the seat, all you have to do is click a button on your handle bar and the bar will go over the seat onto the other side. The seat sits up to a 90 degree angle and reclines to 180 degrees.I loved how the handbrake was on your handle bar just at your fingertips instead of having the typical brake on the wheel where you have to step on it. You can choose foam or air filled wheels but either way, the bugaboo can handle any type of terrain. Why I got rid of it? Well first things first, the storage basket was made out of cloth. It was being held to the stroller by velcro straps. It was not sturdy at all and it would always collapse inwards. I HATED IT! There was a weight limit to the storage basket as well, I think it was 20 pounds. I also hated the fact that when you folded up the stroller, there was no fold lock! You had to be very cautious because at any given moment the stroller can unfold and hit you and its happened to me. The weight limit on this stroller is very low. Your child cannot grow with this stroller. The seat width and height is very limited, so your child depending on his size, can be very very squished in there. The stroller materials are made in China and not very durable at all. Everything seems to break and fall apart with a quick snap of a button. You have to practically disassemble the stroller to put it away, in that sense you would have to detach the seat first and then fold up the base. I got rid of this stroller after 2-3 months.
5. Baby Trend Go-Lite Snap-N-Grow Stroller ( MSRP $160.00 )
I bought this stroller out of impulse at babies R us about 3 months ago. The color and fabric pattern appealed to me so much. I also was obsessed with how one seat can quickly turn into a bassinet with 2 easy snaps. I bought it because I had figured my son would have a lovely sleep in the seat turned bassinet and boy he did! The seat can front and rear face. The storage basket, oh man, was extremely roomy! I loved how much room it had. The canopy was amazing! You were able to unzip it and it would cover at least 75% of the seat as well as if you were using it as a bassinet. It was great for shade and privacy. HOWEVER, the seat seemed very uncomfortable for my son. The seat was at 70 degree angle and I swore my son was going to slip off if I didn’t fasten the belts. Whenever I seated him upright he would cry out of discomfort and the only way to make him comfy was to lay it a rest position but then he wasn’t able to see what was going on. The wheels were made of plastic so the ride was extremely bumpy that you can feel all the bumps on the handle bar while pushing the stroller. Like the bugaboo, you have to detach the seat first to fold it up. Currently, I am trying to get rid of it waiting for a seller to purchase it. Its a no-go stroller for me.
6. Stokke Xplory ( MSRP $1,225.00 )
STOKKE! Bugaboo’s eternal rival! Another iconic, high end luxury, celebrity sighting stroller from Norway! This is currently the stroller I am using and I’ve had this stroller for 2 days and used it today and so far so good. First, I love how it maneuvers. I can literally maneuver this stroller with one hand and the ride is extremely smooth. Second, I am infatuated with the seat height adjustment. In one easy click, the seat can down and very low to the ground, but it can also be very high up to the height of a table. Since you are able to adjust the height of the seat, most people bring it as high as possible to use as a high chair at a table. The seat sits upright which is my sons favorite feature! It also reclines to a sleeping position. The steering bar can also be adjusted to your height. Now, it does not come with a storage basket which makes me sad and can POSSIBLY be a reason for me to grow not to like it. Storage is everything to me. However, it does come with a storage bag that sits and is shaped perfectly to fit on the bottom of the stroller where it holds its place with two straps. The storage bag is VERY roomy. I am able to fit diapers, clothes and even a cooler lunch bag in there. As of now, I am using it as a diaper bag which means I cannot store any of my personal belongings in there. Later on, I might chose to just carry a regular diaper bag, hang it from the handle bar and use the stock storage bag to hold my items. I recently bought a stroller caddy that attaches to the handle bar so hopefully that will give me more storage. The footrest is also adjustable which means it can grow with your child considering as well that the seat has a 45 pound capacity which is ALOT! The quality of the fabric is phenomenal. The parts and materials of this stroller are high quality AND are the same type of materials used to build Audi’s and Mercedes, which means its is VERY durable. The con’s of the stroller is that it is a 9 step process to fold the stroller. Like the strollers above, you have to detach the seat as well as the footrest. It is a bit hard to take in and out of the car because it is bulky but maybe its just my trunk space thats small LOL. Personally, I would love to stick to this stroller but I am afraid the storage availability will make me want to get rid of it. Summing up, I am falling in love with the stroller because my son is very comfortable in the seat and it maneuvers like butter! If I had to chose between the two iconic rivals, BUGABOO and STOKKE, stokke would be the chosen one.
