Someone tagged one of my reader x Simon centric posts as “Grace!reader” because there wasn’t any mention of Grace and how it’s got me thinking about that. I normally don’t think about those types of aus/tropes because it feel a bit weird yeeting a whole character out of existence (Grace especially because I love him so dearly) just to replace them with the reader. But the idea of me, myself, as in the person I am and not just the blank slate to insert myself in, being in Grace’s place when finding Simon is fascinating to me.
Because I can be very stubborn and hate being out of the loop. So I can see myself being like “Well I fished you out of a submarine in the middle of a blood ocean, in deep space, so I’m gonna have questions about what the fuck that’s about.” when Simon initially doesn’t want to talk about how he ended up in that situation.
But at the same time I’m weirdly accommodating so I’d probably also be like “Are you hungry? I noticed you haven’t seem to be eating much. And you look tired. Maybe you should go lie down and rest for a while. Is everything okay?” and trying to talk to him.
Would still be stubborn and slightly passive aggressive as hell though.
“It’s called small talk, Simon. I’m trying to make conversation with you.”
But like… oh imagine Simon with a reader who’s also stubborn and a little assertive. Stubborn man trapped on a space road trip with a stubborn person (and Rocky because he can also be really stubborn)
