09/07/2018 at the opening of the new Grace Exhibition Space location on Avenue C on the LES I “re-perform” (insofar as such a thing is possible) my very first “performance art piece proper” from 2008, performed at the old Grace Space in Brooklyn when I was 24. To frame the action, I said some things about the problematics of nostalgia, anxiety, and community, then asked folks present who identify as “performance artists” to help me realize the action by being the pillar (see first photo, from the original performance, which i slid down) and by making the sound of the elevated J train passing by the old Grace’s second story location. “Oniono” action involves onions, an onion helmet, frozen peas, a hollow metal rod, ladder, pillar, drill, screws, and a little bit of text as well as some satirical/theatrical enactment of control and loss scenarios.

THE MARCH OF THE WOMEN performance commissioned by Grace Exhibition Space for its “21st Suffragettes: International Performance Art by Women” Festival - May 2016
Drawing from the symbolic unison of the Suffragettes Women's march for freedom, Legacy Fatale premiered its Army of Women. In response to the recent resurgence of anti-feminist backlashes around the world most notoriously the neo-masculine movement of rape culture, Legacy Fatale has invited both women and men to follow their march, chanting the original Anthem of the 1911′s Suffragettes movement through the streets of Bushwick in a procession to Grace Exhibition space. This counter protest is tied to the political context of leadership in America. Exploring the question: Do we still need to keep marching? The following performance ‘The Lasso of Truth’ at Grace Exhibition Space leads to a final tableaux featuring a sound piece inviting the audience to take part in human peace transcending gender and races.
